Wake Up (Law X Reader)

Chapter XI

The morning was sad, the clouds wouldn't allow the sun to shine inside your room and the news predicted rain. It was your last day there, as soon as you woke up you started getting all your stuff ready, you got a small backpack from your boss that got just enough for you to get ready, but by the look of the set of clothes you knew it was his wife who had chosen it, still you needed your last check up before getting your clothes on

-Good morning Y/N- said Penguin- I'm her for your last check up

-Oh, sure- you hoped to see Law before you left, but you couldn't blame him after just asking him out of nowhere the day prior.

"-I think it's not a good idea- he composed himself- I appreciate the offer, don't get me wrong, it's just not professional"

You understood, it was his job after all and you barely knew him, you asked him because that's how you were, not thinking about it too much until it actually hits you. You had no one but yourself to blame, yet you wished to see him one more time

-Congratulations Y/N- said Penguin- as soon as I get these results to La... Dr. Trafalgar you are free to go, I'll let the nurses know

-Thank you- he happily left the room with some of your files, leaving you alone- I guess it's time... then- you took the phone your boss gave you and texted him telling him you were leaving that day

"I'll send someone to pick you up!"- you smiled at the message, but you got another one right after that one- "Hello dear, this is Norma, I'll pick you up when you are ready"

"Thank you, Norma, I'll be out in an hour if everything goes right"- she sends you a heart emoji to answer you. She wasn't as expressive as your boss but she liked you just as much, when you met them you knew she was the one keeping your boss on the ground

-Y/N are you ready? - asked one nurse entering the room, you nodded leaving your phone in the bag

-Let me get dressed- you took the bag and walked to the bathroom- I'll be out in 5

-Take your time darling, call me when you are ready- the nurse walked away leaving the room alone again

As you put your clothes on you couldn't help but to smile, it felt so nice to have something comfortable and warm hugging your skin for the first time since you woke up. You put your shoes too and welcomed the weird feeling of having shoes again. When you looked at the mirror your smile faded, you were about to go back to a life you didn't knew you left and every part of you suddenly doubted, but you needed to go on and keep going

-My dream is still there- you said to yourself touching the mirror, until you realize you had left your hand print and tried to clean it right away, ruining your deep moment with yourself- get it together Y/N...

When you opened the door, you found yourself with the empty room, you wondered if someone else will take your place there, but you hoped no one did. You got your things together and sent Norma a message that you were done and ready, thanking her again

-Where is he? - Penguin asked Ikkaku who wouldn't move her eyes from her computer- I need him to sign this so she can leave

-He hasn't arrived, I thought you would know where he is- Ikkaku stud up- have you call him?

-I thought that was your job- Ikkaku took Penguin's phone out of his pocket-hey!

-He hasn't answered my calls- she called Law's phone number but he wouldn't answer again- what the hell is he doing?

-What are you guys mumbling about? - Sachi approached them, bored and with no much to do

-We are trying to locate Law- Penguin said taking back his phone, Ikkaku pulled her tongue out and took Sachi's phone out of his pocket

-Hey relax! - he complained- I just saw him running from the parking lot, I think he just got here if you ask me- just as he said that Law walked behind him with a box in his arms- see? - Ikkaku and Penguin exchanged looks

-Law!!

Law walked as fast as he could trying to be careful with the huge box, passing through nurses and patients and skipping everything and everyone in his way. He was late but he wished he arrived in time to see you, something had come up in the morning and he lost his mind about it. As soon as he saw one of your nurses, he approached her

-Is patient in 207 still here? - he asked calmly and serious, the nurse nodded confused

-She can't leave until you sign her off- the nurse pointed out, he felt stupid for forgetting something like that but the morning incident took the best of his morning, he continued to the room now with his normal pace and knocked before getting in

-Dr. Trafalgar? - you asked when you saw the man with the box- what are you doing here? I already had my checkup- Law's heart skipped a beat after seeing you, you looked beautiful now that you were wearing your normal clothes- Dr?

-I came here to give you this- he said after you woke him up from his thoughts. He placed the box in the floor and opened it to reveal the little bird that had crashed to your window- It was on a cage but my dog decided it was a good idea to free it so he chew it

-Thank you! - you hugged him making him almost trip. He couldn't bring himself to hug you back, but when he makes his mind you had let go of him already- I really appreciates it

-Law!!- Penguin entered the room, he had been following Law and had just catch up to him- can you...- he stopped to breath- can you please sign these?- Law looked at you, your eyes stuck on him, waiting for him to sign, but also waiting for him to stop you

-Here- he signed them not even looking, you were his first patient that he actually got along with and could stand him- is someone picking you up? - his words broke a little

-Yes, there is someone outside waiting for me- you said showing him the text, it wasn't necessary but you didn't know what to do

-Penguin bring me the chair- he requested politely- do you mind if I get you there myself?

-Not at all

Going in the wheelchair was weird enough, but being pushed by Law make it even worst. You felt like he was watching over you, and he was, he just wouldn't admit it, he even was pushing it slower to get to spend just one more moment with you

-I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable yesterday- you said making him stop- I didn't mean it- Law didn't answered and continued pushing you until you were outside, Norma's car was just getting in the pickup area. You stud up with your backpack and the box with the bird and began walking to the car, not before turning to see him one more time- thank you for everything Dr. Trafalgar

-I think there is a problem- he said with a serious look in his face, you raised an eyebrow- we still have one more appointment

-What? When? - you asked confused

-I think maybe in a week if everything is fine- he gave you a card- maybe in the coffee shop next to Wellington park- you looked at the card and saw his number- just to check out how are you doing Y/N-ya

-I look forward to it, Law
