Saturday, December 28

After a long afternoon in the studio yesterday, I chose to dedicate this day, matter fact the rest of this weekend to just relaxing and winding down. The laziness and procrastination in me is coming out to play. My ass had one studio session and all of a sudden I think that qualifies for a two day break. Oh well, who gon check me?

I had just arrived at Bey's house for some tea time. Kiara came with me to play with her cousins while Trey was at home with TJ.

"How was the rest of your week sis?" I asked Bey as we were sitting in her living area.

"Same as how all of 'em be, chaotic. I've been running around planning Blue's birthday party which is already two weeks away, while having to go to countless meetings plus trying to write some new music. You would think I'd slow down around the holidays but my ass just can't stay put."

"Shit, you better than me." I chuckled. "Maybe you should take a lil break though, even if it's just for a day. You don't wanna overwork yourself."

I probably have this conversation with her at least once a month. Everyone knows Bey is a workaholic and the word "break" isn't really in her vocabulary unless it's a planned vacation, emphasis on planned.

"I really should... But then I'll get stressed from not working cause I work to keep my mind off stress but the work I'm doing causes me more stress and if I don't work I'll still be stressing." she rambled.

I looked at her as if she had just spoken to me in another language. "You wanna run that back?"

"Basically, I'm stressed whether I work or not, so I might as well be productive while I'm stressing."

"Whatever works best for you boo. Just don't let nobody have you feeling like you gotta burn yourself out. Remember you're your own boss, and you still that bitch at the end of the day."

"Yeah, that bitch who's always worried about something..." she mumbled. "Like the fact that Solange is out here getting a whole divorce-"

She quickly covered her mouth with a look of panic on her face when she realized she slipped up. The gag is, this wasn't even news to me.

"Bey, I already knew about it. She told me on Christmas."

Her facial expression changed to a pouty one. "Okay, not that I'm jealous, but I'm jealous."

"It's not like she was planning on me being the first to know. She only told me cause I asked how she and Alan were doing. You know she can't tell a lie."

"Why you ain't tell me?"

"The same reason you were shook just now that you accidentally said it. She told me not to say anything cause she wanted to tell people on her own terms."

"Well, I bet you ain't know there's more to the story." she smirked.

"Stop lying."

"I'm so serious. She broke everything down for me... after I hounded her with a bunch of questions. It's deeper than them just 'falling out of love.'"

"Oooh, bitch spill!" I crossed my legs and made direct eye contact with her.

"I don't know man, isn't that something she would have to tell people on her own terms?" she said slyly trying to mimic me.
