Taehyung was gleefully laughing on his way home from an amazing dinner with his mates. There was a special skip in his step as he followed the path towards the apartment building. This joyful feeling of torturing Sohye and making her suffer was beyond euphoric. He felt his heart swell with happiness as he climbed up the stairs not even annoyed at the fact that the elevator wasn't working.
He glanced over at his watch as he passed her apartment door.
"8:43... She couldn't be asleep yet, could she?" He snickered to himself as he brushed it off and entered his own apartment. Just as he closed the door and took off his shoes there was a knock on the door. Surprised and unsure, he turned around carefully opening the door just a slight bit.
"Hello, I'm the new neighbour that moved in-"
Taehyung opened his door properly so he could see the new male that had just moved in. He glanced up meeting the tall males eyes. The male bowed slightly greeting Taehyung properly as Taehyung just sent him a glare.
"As I was saying before; I just moved in recently earlier today and I just thought it'd be nice to pop by and make myself known around the apartment so that no one feels like strangers around here. Also I don't know if you know her, but the young girl living opposite your apartment," He pointed an unsure finger towards Sohyes door and Taehyungs eyebrows drew deeper towards each other.
"She walked in today all beat up and bloody, I didn't know what to do so I just helped her inside but I don't know her very well so I didn't know where anything was to treat her wounds. She had very bad wounds though. I'm not sure if she's doing alright in there but after I had finished unpacking I went back to check on her but her door was locked and no matter how hard I rung the door bell or knocked she wouldn't opened the door. I have asked around but everyone in the apartment didn't even know she existed haha..." He laughed scratching the back of his neck. He was beginning to think that maybe he was crazy or had seen a ghost or something.
"But everyone here seems so anti-social and seems like they don't know anyone along this floor.... Anyways I just thought I'd mention it to you too just in case you knew her. Wait-" The new male frowned as he stared down at Taehyungs clothes, his mind then flashed back to when he first saw the girl, he tried to recall the dirty uniform in his head.
"You're from the same school! So you'd know her! Wow what a coincidence! Are you guys friends?" He asked starting to get a little too excited. Taehyung didn't answer his question as he just stared back trying to really figure out what this new male wants.
He cant just be that nice for no reason. No such person exists.
"What's your name? You mentioned you were new but I don't even know your name. Also where are you from? You don't sound like you grew up here." He says looking up and eyeing the male properly.
"Oh, did I forget to tell you? Silly me." He laughs, his eyes forming crescents.
"I'm Johnny, Johnny Suh. I moved here from Chicago two weeks ago. Although I've only just properly moved in today." He smiled revealing his pearly whites.
"Ok." Taehyung replies still glaring at him.
"And your name...?" Johnny asks leaning down a bit; curious of this moody male.
"Taehyung. Kim Taehyung. It's nice to meet you. Also that girl," He pointed towards Sohyes door.
"Don't worry about her, she's just an ignorant slut. A complete waste of time. I tell you; she's completely useless." He says. Johnny's eyes widened in disbelief of Taehyungs words but before he could say anything Taehyung bowed a bit and closed his door.
"Idiot." Taehyung whispered under his breath as he headed straight for his room.12:17am
Sohye shivered feeling a cold gust of wind hit her and sent chills through out her body. Her hairs stood on end in a useless attempt to keep her warm. She woke up, her eyes still stingy and swollen. Her hearing was a lot better but her chest and body hurt. She felt like she was in so much pain. She bought her hands up to rub her arms, trying to sooth the little hairs that were standing up from the cold of the night. She looked around but could barely see a thing in the pitch black darkness. It took a while for her vision to fix on the darkness but eventually she pulled herself up. Her legs began to shake as she felt like she was going to vomit up blood. She staggered to the bathroom knocking over small objects and picture frames; bringing them crashing to the floor and smashing into smithereens. She fiddled with the door knob before finally opening the door and feeling the wall for the light switch. Her eyes squinted when the bright yellow light filled up her bathroom. She walked unsteadily towards the mirror glancing at herself. Once seeing her face however she ended up crying again. She looked at herself, her swollen bloodshot eyes, her dirty-food-covered uniform, the crusty blood stained around her mouth and on her lips, her grazed elbows and knees, her messed up knotted hair, her peeling skin and more crusty dried up blood. She was a mess. Sohye cried and cried without stopping she felt so tormented and lost. She didn't know what to do with herself now.
How can I go to school now? What should I do? Why am I so weak and pathetic? Why do they hate me so much? Why do they believe all the rumours and deny all the truths? Why is humanity so cruel? Why does no one care? What did I ever do to them? What had I ever done to anyone to deserve this? This isn't fair!
Her mind raged as she got more angry as every second passed. Her hands went up to her head pulling at her knotty hair. Her fingers moved up digging her long fingernails into her scalp. She scratched and teared unable to feel the pain. After ages of screaming at herself internally and ruining her own physical features she took her hands out from the messed up nest. She looked down at her hands as her eyes caught the vibrant colour of blood underneath her fingernails.
"What do I do?" She cried as she finally fell onto the tiled floor clutching onto her uniform; wanting to tear it apart so badly. Her blood filled fingernails scratched at the tiled floor of her apartment. It became difficult to breath again as she felt an appalling taste travel up her throat and threaten to spill. She rushed to the toilet, scratching the lid to get it open and out of the way as she threw her head in. The bitter sour substance of previous undigested meals and acids spilled out of her into the toilet bowl as she gaged from the revolting taste.
Sohyes eyes closed as she removed her head from the toilet bowl and wiped her mouth. She laid her head and her weak body against the side of the toilet as she felt all the little energy and power in her body get drained away effortlessly.
There's no point now. What am I even doing being alive? I should've followed Taehyungs words earlier.
She thought as she managed to pull out a slight lopsided smile. She closed her eyes for a while trying to pull out any remaining hiding strength in her body as she took deep breaths in and out. Her eyes opened after a while looking around her small bathroom, her eyes traveled upwards towards the yellow light that illuminated the small room before she looked back down-pushing herself off the bathroom floor. Sohye moved to the bathroom sink taking a look at herself once more before turning to the side and glancing at her bathrobe that was hanging on the hook behind the door. She felt a push of energy surge through her as she took in a deep breath and lunged towards her robe pulling at the tie that is used to tie to robe around her body. She grabbed the long ribbon-like rope tightly in her hands. Sohye then reached under the sink to pull out a little stool. Holding the two objects tightly in her hand she scanned the ceiling of the small bathroom searching for anything strong enough to hold her weight. Ultimately she spotted it; a thick water pipe running across the top of the bathroom ceiling. It's creamy colour was obviously painted to fit in with the walls. Sohyes vision began to sway a bit as she took staggering steps towards the pipe. She stood underneath it looking up and breathing deeply. She placed the stool underneath the pipe before standing on it and swinging the fabric rope around the pipe. With shaking hands and quivering breath she tied the end of the rope tightly. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she pulled on the rope; testing it before taking a deep breath and closing her eyes. Her eyes were closed tightly as she hesitated on the stool, tears dripped from her face to the floor as she gripped onto the fabric rope tighter making her knuckles turn white from the force. Finally she took another deep breath in as she finally bought her face closer to the loop. She placed her head into the loop before breathing out a shaky breath one last time. She kicked the stool beneath her forcing it to fall forward as she now dangled in the air, kicking at nothing as tears dripped down her cheeks and splashed onto the floor. There was a banging right outside the door but nothing seemed to matter as her breathing got restricted and she felt herself slip in and out of death. She felt the tear slip down her left cheek one last time.
