Nicki's POV
"Total badass." Rose said into the phone. I smirked while tapping my finger on the steering wheel. I spent the entire day to myself. Cole and Nick hadn't even tried contacting me, which was a relief.
"I know, right?" I replied laughing. I squinted my eyes and turned on my windshield wipers to get rid of the snow. "Any news on Jacqueline?" I asked.
"Aaron dumped her. He changed his facebook status to single." She replied happily. To be honest, Aaron was an okay guy. Goddess knows why she is mates with him. I couldn't really see Aaron in a successful relationship, especially with Rose.
Rose squealed happily into my phone, "Wait... How long should I wait until he gets over Jacqueline?" She asked, panic in her tone.
"I don't know... I've never had this happen to me before" I replied honestly. I have never been romantically involved with anyone. Of course, I planned on it with Ty. I decided to head home because of the night sky and continued down the road. The weather was getting worse by the second, and making the road practically unclear.
"I gotta go Nicki, I have to help my mom with thanksgiving decorations." She said disgustedly. Her family always decorated their house on every single holiday. I never did it much, the older Nick, Cole and I got, the less we decorated. It finally stopped when we turned 13.
"Okay, bye" I said.
"Bye, talk to you tommorow" We both hung up afterwards, and I focused more on the road. Snow blew against my car, all I was able to see were white streaks slapping my windshield. I scowled at the bad weather and tried to slow down because of the slippery snow.
I screamed as a dark figure popped up out of the snow and pressed the brakes. I heard a loud bump and I took my keys out of the ignition. Oh god oh god! Did I run over someone? I secretly hoped it was a dog, so it wouldn't be as scary. I slowly opened my car door and walked towards the front of my car, one hand rubbing against the cold metal so I was able to find my way back.
I was shocked to see Ty standing with big eyes. "Ty?" I asked with a beffudled look. He looked as frightened as a kicked puppy.
He stared at me, seeming to relax at my presence, "Nicki?"
"What are you doing out here in this blizzard?" I practically shouted, the blizzard was a whipping my hair back and forth.
"I-I w-was at the library." He replied quietly. "Y-you almost ran me over." He said.
"I didn't mean to. The weather is really bad out. What did I run over?" I asked.
He shrugged a little, "Maybe a rock?"
"Oh thank god. I thought I hit you. Come on, it isn't safe being out here at night" I pointed to my car.
"O-okay" He said starting towards the passenger side. I walked back over to the driver's side and got in. Ty rubbed the goosebumps on his arms as I sat back in the seat, taking a deep breath and trying to contain my excitement.
"A-are you okay?" A warm hand was placed over mine and I felt my cheeks heat up. I turned to Ty, I hadn't realized how close we were. The pull towards him was beginning to become hard to resist with us being so close. He looked down at his hand over mine. His face turned scarlet red making me smile a little at how adorable he was.
He removed his hand, making my entire body feel cold. "S-sorry, I-I didn't mean to-"
"It's fine." I sighed putting my keys in and starting the car.

To say the car ride was awkward would be an understatement. No one spoke, not even the radio was on. There was this weird silence between us and I hated it. The whispering blizzard was the only thing I was able to hear with my enhanced hearing. I stole a peek at Ty every once and awhile. He kept texting on his phone, then putting it back in his backpack.
"So uh, what were you doing out so late?" I asked.
"I-I was at the u-um l-library. Studying. I-I was studying." He replied. The awkward silence consumed us again. "Why were you driving out so late? N-not to pry into your business or anything." He began talking nonsense making me laugh.
"Your embarrassment is so cute. I was just spending the day with myself." I chuckled.
"Oh." He replied lowly, his gaze dropped to his lap. "C-can I ask you something?"
My heart began to do flips as I nodded eagerly, "Yeah, sure... Anything."
"Well, uh..... Titus.... He um.... You know.... Likes you" His cheeks tinted pink again, "I.... I think you guys should uh... You know.... Date.... Or g-go out on a date?" He ended it more like a question.
A frown appeared on my face and I stared at the road intensely. Did he not feel a thing for me? Not a single thing? My heart dropped as I parked in his driveway. "N-Nicki I-I didn't mean you make you upset." He grabbed my hand again, grabbing my full attention as I turned to him. "I-I shouldn't have said anything." Ty looked at me intensely. Sorrow and something else shown in his eyes.
He brought up his other hand and caressed my cheek gently. I grinned lightly at the blissful contact. "I-I'm sorry" He said quickly kissing me on the lips. It was the most pleasurable feeling in the world. Even if it did last a split second, I was able to close my eyes shut to enjoy the electric feeling that his lips left on mine.
When I reopened my eyes, Ty seemed to be in another world as I was. I could hear my own heartbeat through the loud snow thumping against my car. He slowly retracted his hand from my face and we both just stared at one another in a state of aw.
"I-I didn't me-an to-" He quickly swung his backpack over his shoulder, his hand dropped mine as he opened the door, "Th-thanks for the ride." He said shutting the door. He gave me one last glance, I was able to notice just the tiniest grin on his lips. He turned away and continued walking towards his front door. I stared into space, replaying the kiss in my head over and over again.
A big smile came over my lips and I squealed in glee.
~•••~
"Hey mom." I said entering the house. She looked up from her magazine.
"Hey sweetie." She replied smiling. "Why so happy?"
I shook my head, "I'm really tired. I'll tell you in the morning before school." I replied heading up the steps. I entered my room and closed the door. I took a shower and changed into my most comfortable pajamas before getting into bed and staring at the ceiling. The kiss was replaying in my head over and over again.
Ty had kissed me. I didn't mind his reaction, but I could tell he had feelings for me. Even though him and I were taking baby steps. I didn't mind at all that it wasn't a long kiss, but it was still a kiss.
It was my first kiss ever. Also, my first kiss with my mate, and I wouldn't trade that memory for the world.
