Yo! It's me, Oki!

Marik: When are we going to start?

Oki: Soon... Very soon.

I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh!, or its characters, but I own this story, so don't steal!

Marik's POV

I glanced at (y/n), watching her happily scribble away, smiling.

I guess she's kind of pretty... I thought. Wait, what?

She's... pretty to me? Hm... well, I guess I might not be able to help it. I just need to sort out my feelings first- then I'll decide whether or not I liked her.

Hm... she's still drawing. What is she drawing, anyways?

I peered over at her paper, and to my surprise, she was drawing... me.

She noticed that I was staring at the paper, so she picked it up, and showed it to me. It actually looked exactly like me, except that she had done the entire thing in pencil.

"Um... how is it?" She asked, as if she was afraid of what I might say.

"It's really good! It looks just like me!" I gushed.

She started blushing a little, and she looked away in embarrassment. Her fox ears flattened against her silver hair, and she straightened out her glasses.

"Oh, uh, it surely isn't that good..." She mumbled.

"But it is! You really are good. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, okay, (y/n)? You are amazing, just the way you are."

She began to blush more at my little comment, but she was smiling. I instantly realized what I had said, and began blushing myself. I really did think that she was beautiful, though. She was smart, too. And she may not know it, but she was probably more human than anyone in the school... including myself.

(y/n)'s POV

I was so... flustered at what Marik just said. My drawing of him... he said that it was amazing. He... he also said that I was amazing...

(Timeskip) 11:50 am, hallways

I was walking down the halls as I was suddenly shoved into a locker. I heard laughing, and swears coming from the three girls who hurt me.

"Heh, well here's the smart-(bleep) freak! You think you can get into our school, and just act smarter than us? Well think again, you damn (bleep)! No one messes with Tèa Gardner and gets away with it!" She snarled as the other two pulled me to the ground.

Then, Tèa began kicking me with her high-heeled shoes. I cried out in pain as it dug into my back, screeching insults. When she started pulling on my ears and tail, I cried out louder, tears streaming down my soft cheeks.

Suddenly, I heard a familliar voice...

"LEAVE HER ALONE!!"

I turned my head to see Marik, furious.

The girls dropped me to the ground, and I got on my knees.

"And what are YOU gonna do about it, (bleep)?"

Marik pulled out a golden rod with an odd eye symbol.

"Leave her alone now- I don't want to have to have to use my Millenium Rod on you. I will not warn you a second time, so leave her alone!" He growled.

The girls scoffed, and turned to me as I scooched back, with fear in my eyes.

Then, the strangest thing happened. The eye on Marik's Millenium Rod glowed, and it seemed to control Tèa. She began punching the other girls, and son a fight broke out between the three of them, with me forgotten.

Marik walked over to me, and kneeled, making sure I was okay. He picked up my stuff, and handed to me.

"Are you okay? It must hurt pretty badly..." he whispered, in his usual kind tone of voice.

Tears streamed down my face as I hugged him, sobbing.

He was surprised, but he hugged me back.

"What's wrong, (y/n)?"

"She... she said that... I wasn't even hu-human... She said that I don't deserve to be alive. Maybe she's right..." I choked out in between sobs.

Marik seemed upset at me. But he wasn't. "(y/n), I told you. You're amazing. No matter what. Besides, you're probably more human than anyone in the school. Don't listen to that idiot, Tèa. Besides. You... you're beautiful, (y/n)."

"Huh..?"

"Oh, sorry. I guess that was a bit much. Anyways, you're not alone." He breathed.

"Thank you, Marik!" I sniffed, wiping away my tears. He stood, and helped me up.

"Say... how would you like to sit with me and my friends in the cafeteria?"

My face brightened. "Yes, please. Thanks again, Marik!"

Marik's POV

I was enchanted by that wonderful smile, and her hand felt softer than silk.

I guided her to my usual table, introducing her to my friends.

"Hey, guys, this is (y/n), and I decided to invite her here. (y/n), this is Yugi, Yami, Ryou, Bakura, Joey, Seto, Tristan, and Serenity. They're all nice, except maybe Seto. Other than that, you don't need to worry, okay?" I smiled.

(y/n) bowed, and introduced herself politely.

She decided to sit between me and Ryou. I was pretty happy, to be honest.

"Hey, I know you! You're from ELA, right, (y/n)?" Yugi and Ryou blurted.

"Jinx!" Ryou said, in his usual Brittish accent. "Got you there, buddy!"

Yugi grunted in defiance.

"Yugi." I sighed, releasing him from his jinx.

"Thanks. Anyways, you were in my ELA, Physed, and Geometry classes, along with Ryou, right?" He asked.

(y/n) nodded. "I guess so... I don't think anyone but Marik noticed."

"Nope!" Joey grinned. "All of us noticed. Don't worry."

The others chattered away as we ate our lunch, but I had other things on my mind.

Namely (y/n). She was so shy, so cute. I don't know what exactly my feelings meant yet, but there was something I do know- if I have something I love, my other side- no, Malik would come and take it from me. But I won't let him take my first love.

Not now.

Not ever.
