The first day of the wedding countdown, Sabrina had been planning and planning all alone, well with the help of Jackson, but not the husband who would be the one participating in the wedding. She couldn't expect any less from Jackson though, he was always there, whenever she needed help he'd be the first to run and extend a hand. That's why for her he'll always be her number one guy, always.
"I liked the first cake really, it's probably because of the chocolate." Jackson says, they were cake testing, usually the groom is the one to help with these things but he couldn't attend due to reason Jackson nor Sabrina knew.
"Your groom has lovely taste." One of the preps for the cake says as she slices the next cake.
"He's not the groom..." Sabrina says looking from her cake to Jackson, "Sadly," Jackson added holding out his plate for another slice of the new cake. The prep smiled looking Jackson up and down walking around the table. "So you're single?" She asked making Jackson choke on his cake, Sabrina rolled her eyes placing her plate down.
"Shouldn't you be doing your job?" Sabrina mumbled under her breath.
"Ah sorry, beautiful lady but you couldn't dare handle me." Jackson says, he was speaking about his college days, his disability to commit, his constant one night stands and his way of leading girls on until they can't help but follow him even after the end.
"I think I can." She says stepping up to Jackson so they were now feeling each other's breath, Sabrina groaned before stepping in front of the two and smiling, "Sorry to interrupt your terrible flirting skills but I've picked the chocolate one, so we'll be on our way now." She says waving her hand, she moved from between the too strutting off and out the door to the car. The flirtatious prep slip Jacksons her number into his pocket before walking away. Jackson smirked to himself as he met Sabrina in the car. "Quite the cake that was huh?" Jackson says, Sabrina rolls her eyes as she stared out the window.
"I can never understand what girls see in you..." Sabrina says she didn't like the fact that she had to watch Jackson and the prep flirt.
"Surely you understand since you saw it in me once as well." Jackson says, Sabrina didn't say anything back, because it was true. Girls had no reason not to fall over Jackson's good looks, his voice, his personality, everything about him was just what a girl wanted. At least that's what he showed Sabrina, while other girls not so much.
The rest of the drive back was silent, the next step was to pick out a dress, her mom and sister would be meeting her there.
"Jackson!" Her mom yelled hugging him tightly, she hadn't seen Jackson since he had gotten back from college. She hugged him tightly proving what everyone knows, she'd much rather Sabrina be getting married to him rather than Carson.
"Mrs. Carpenter," Jackson says when they finally let go, Her mother smiled brushing Jacksons face, "It's good to see you." She says, Jackson goes to hug Sarah, Sabrina's older sister.
"Mom can we please start the show?" Sabrina says. Her mother nodded and took her seat in the chair. Sabrina had already picked out the four dresses she couldn't decide on.
The first dress she came out in, didn't wow the crowd much, it was long sleeved no pattern just plain although Jackson did think she looked beautiful. He thought that of every dress she put on, all of the dresses she tried on were plain, pattern less.
"Let's try something else shall we?" Jackson says looking through the dresses, He pulled out a low cut dress, just as plain as the other. "This one..." Jackson held it up and Sabrina looked at him, "A little too much cleavage for a white wedding don't you think?" Sabrina says taking the dress from him. She walked back to the changing room as the three waited.
When she came out Jackson stood up, it was the perfect dress, she was perfect in it, almost as If she was glowing, "T-that's the one..." Jackson said under his breath. Sabrina smiled at him then looked at her mother who was on the verge of tears, her sister was smiling ear from ear.
"Absolutely beautiful." Her mother says wiping her tears away as she kissed Sabrina's forehead.
"Then it's settled, this is the one." Sabrina says, Jackson watched as she walked away, it was no secret that his heart was jumping out at her like it always does but this time it ached knowing it wasn't him that she was putting that dress on for.
As Sabrina went back to take the dress off and put her casual clothes back on her mother decided to have a little talk with Jackson.
"You're letting the one you love get married to another, very selfless of you, but why?" She asked Jackson sat down next to her smiling, he was waiting for her interrogation.
"I want her to be happy, she's happy with Carson. I will admit that I lost to him, I will admit that I without knowing purposely missed my chance with being with her."
"The fight's not over till the lady sings I do." Her mother say walking off, Jackson sat confused at why she wanted him to stop this wedding but although she was right, he couldn't ruin Sabrina's chance at being happy.
Unless maybe she isn't happy...
"Let's go J."
