They had arrived at the town of Lyon, the first fort to protect the survivors of France. Seeing how helpless they were, Fujimaru finally found out why Maiya and Arthur, no... almost every nations spirits she'd form contracts with had send them the cargo of food, flesh water, clothing and medicines. It wasn't just for disguise, but also to help those who needed it to survive.
Now he was helping Mash and some of the other to prepare food while Maiya went off with a group of casters she'd just summoned to help the wounded. Some of them took it upon themselves to brighten the atmosphere either by playing with the children or telling stories about their adventure to keep the people entertained while others help giving out some cloths and finished cooked food to the people. It was like a small scale community service. At the very least the Chaldean learned how the foreigners from Nivea and Dyna works.
"There, that should do it." Maiya said as she finished treating an injured soldier. She was about to go and checked on her casters when the man suddenly asked her, "Why? Why do you guys help us?" there was despair in those voice
Despite surprised by his question, Maiya gave him a smile as she placed her hand on the soldier's hand as she used her free one to point out Frau's groups who was blessing the area and people with protection charms as well as reassuring them. "See those bishops over there. They received massage from Lord Archangel Uriel to help Lord Michael's people in France. So they gathered us who voluntarily help out freely," she said with a reassuring smile on her face. Maiya knew that she was risking them to shift their belief to the Guardian Archangel Uriel instead of the chief angel, Michael. Then again, it was Lord Michael's counterpart who had asked Uriel to told them to prepared some charity for the people of France.
The man was about to asked for more when a sharp whistle pierce the peaceful atmosphere, alerting them of the approaching danger. Immediately the swordsmen, lancers, and assassins who was inside the fort went outside to joined the riders while the casters and archers took to the higher ground to provide defence and support. That's when the horde of wyvern showed up. Let's just say that they were quickly being dispatched by the warriors without any further damage before Lancelot noticed Jeanne watches them from the shadows.
Time skipped...
The appearance of the true Jeanne D' Arc who'd help out in the battle had caused the France soldiers to retreated into the city, clearly frighten and misidentified the newly arrived maiden as her dark counterpart. A bit surprising to say the least. But those who experience this kind of thing could easily recognised that it was guilt and fear that clouded their minds, causing them to not able to identify the maiden of Orleans as the one that lead them through the 100 Years' war. Jeanne somehow had to give them an apologetic smile, which the Chaldean and the dimension travelars accepted, some in understanding, some in bewilderment.
"How about we go somewhere else before they decided to attack us out of fear later?" Castor suggested. As if on cue, their carriages came out of the city via the gates, each driven by a servant either from Maiya or Fujimaru's team. Maiya had no problem jumped into a moving carriage like any of her companions, a feat that Fujimaru need to mastered in case this kind of things happened and no servants around to save him.
They rode off to the forest nearest to New Orleans in which was found by one of the scouting team that Maiya had send out before entering the city. Team Hawk managed to find the forest and secured it's heart as their temporary campsite. On the other hand, Team Tiger, Lion, and Wolf had their hands full to eliminate and purged the nearby human settlement from death and darkness before regrouping at the meeting point. Well, none of them were complaining since most of them were battle junky at the medium rate. So consider that as a warm up for them.
By the time they reached the entrance of the said forest, a hooded figure suddenly teleported into their view, startling some of the party members and horses into alert. Artoria and the other from the Throne of Heroes were about to reached out for their weapon when Maiya decided to address the figure. "Had I told you to send some warning first before teleporting out of nowhere, Shisui? Even Itachi, Sasuke, Izuna and Madara know this before popping out of thin air in front of new recruits," her voice carried sharp reminding tone in which causes the figure to flinch before relaxed slightly and removed his hood, revealing a young man in his mid-twenty with short, curly black hair, raven black eyes and pale porcelain skin.
He gave them a sheepish grin and eyes smile, before his expression turned serious. That's when they saw the previously dark eyes had turned into a rich wine red with odd black-coloured pattern within the pupils. He began to report the situation around them "We've secured a place for us to set camp during the mission in the centre of the forest. As for damage report, the other three team managed to purge the nearby settlement clean of death and darkness. Unfortunately, while Vaucouleurs, Domremy and Thiers still mostly untouched, in which we'd left some protection wards and runes on the three cities to protect their dwellers from danger. We'd also warned them in advance... on the other hand, there were no survivors found in La Charite. All of them had been killed by Jalter's servants and turned into the walking dead."
The report caused Jeanne to went rigid for a moment, seemingly partially upset, disgust and angered by her counterparts behaviour. The other half however was grateful and happy that there was at least some place weren't touched by the enemy. Plus, their safety was ensured now that the remaining residential area now that her new comrades had placed protection crafts around the place and warned them in advance. She was more than thankful of them for their efforts to protect her people despite they were practically strangers between one another.
The man, Shisui summoned a black stallion before mounting the steed. Once secured himself on top of his personal mount, the male leads them through the path which Jeanne said wasn't supposed to exist in the first place. That's when the Chaldean realised that the forest plants seemingly moved aside to let them passed, before moving back in place. This seems to create an illusion that they weren't there at the first place, covering their tracks as they went further. Was this Shisui's ability?
Shisui chuckled as if he could heard their silent question before turning his attention to his contractor, who smiled at the curiousity of the people in this world. It can't be help how different this world with theirs', how 'less' powerful and skilled the people here with their counterparts from both Nivea and Dyna. So it's natural for them to feel curios or any other emotions when such skills were displayed in front of them. It was practically human nature to do so. But 'sadly', none of the Dyna or Nivea people will display more of their skills unless really needed or in an emergency. Outside those categories... they'll just use the normal ones instead.
