Parking his bike outside the Salvatore's house, Levi stored his helmet away, fully aware that he was being harsher with it than he needed to be and made his way to the door.

'Where were you this morning?' Levi stopped, his attention finally pulled away from his thoughts. Alaric was getting out of his car, having been called into the supernatural meeting as well. 'I heard you missed class. Not the best thing to do this close to your exams, mate.'

'Sorry, it's been a rough morning,' Levi shook his head, trying his best to not look as agitated as he felt.

'I can see that.'

'Hmm, what?' Alaric pointed to Levi's forehead. The teen subconsciously raised his hand to touch the cut that Katharine had caused, 'Oh right, just the usual. Wrong place, wrong time.'

Alaric placed a hand on his shoulder, 'I know all about that.'

There was an awkward pause that Levi had never experienced with Alaric before. The way the man looked at him made him feel close to uncomfortable. It was like Alaric was scrutinising him. Or perhaps it was the sudden dull ache behind his eyes that was making him uncomfortable. The spell to stop the pain from the hit to head yesterday must be wearing off.

'Hard not to with vampires about.' Alaric's hand suddenly felt incredibly heavy and Levi moved away, disguising it with heading to the door. 'Yet, here we come back like usual.'

Alaric watched as they went, the immortal hidden inside not able to tear his eyes away from the teen who was only a toddler the last time he saw him. His heart dropped to his stomach. He'd missed so much, practically everything. The sadness welling up in him was unexpected. He'd much rather be angry, but it was too late for that now.

Opening the door, Levi let Alaric through before closing the door behind them.

'There you are,' Damon announced.

Everyone turned to look at them, Bonnie and Elena instantly stepping forward.

'Oh my god, are you alright?' Elena asked. 'You should have told us sooner.'

'No need, I'm fine. I just happened to be in Katharine's way as she ran out the door.'

'Lucky you survived. You're the first,' Damon interrupted before moving the subject on, much to Levi's relief. 'Anyway, Alaric, I need you to put me down as a chaperone at the dance tonight. Klaus made his first move. That means you have to come too, Levi.'

'Sure,' he replied. 'But I'm not exactly sure what you expect me to do. Throw myself in front of Elena.'

'If it helps,' Damon replied.

'No, he has a point. If we find him, then what, hmm? What's our plan of attack?'

'Me,' said Bonnie simply. 'I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him.'

Alaric chuckled nervously, 'That's not going to be that easy. I mean, he is the biggest, baddest vampire around.'

'Alaric has a point. I mean, what if he--' Damon started before speeding towards Bonnie, attempting what Levi thought was meant to be an attack but instead just ended up with Damon looking like an idiot. He almost smiled as Damon clambered to his feet, surprised at being tossed across the room so easily.

'Well, I was impressed.'

'Nice,' Levi held his fist out to Bonnie who bumped it back.

'It doesn't matter if he's an original. I can take down anyone who comes at me. I can kill him, Elena,' Bonnie reassured. 'I know I can.'
