Levi cried out

Levi cried out. Not because the flesh on his wrist tore as Greta was flung across the clearing but because Klaus's hands on his shoulder and chest felt like they were burning holes into him.

'You will not lay a hand on my son!' said Klaus, pushing Greta away for the second time as she attempted to speed back to Levi.

Levi stumbled back as Klaus let go of him so he could handle Greta. Her blood clouded eyes were glued on Levi. Her attempts to get to Levi were thwarted when Klaus finally grabbed a stick and plunged it deep into her stomach. Klaus turned to face Levi as she fell to the ground, her eyes returning to normal and mouth open in shock.

'What do you think you're doing? This sacrifice is for you as much as it is for me.'

Levi clutched his wrist, holding it against his chest as if it were a child. Blood seeped through his fingers onto his white shirt. 'Bargaining.'

Klaus's lips pursed, his cheek twitching as if he was desperate to say something. Levi knew he was lucky that the man was holding back.

'With what?'

'You no longer have a witch,' he took a few steps back, instinctively wanting to get away from the pain. 'But if you use Greta for the vampire sacrifice and let Jenna go free... I will lift your curse.'

'You're in no state to perform the ritual,' Klaus replied, sounding genuinely concerned. Levi didn't believe it. But then he couldn't see himself. It was only then that he realised he was squinting from the pain in his head.

'You don't have a choice.'

Klaus didn't say anything and Levi held his breath in anticipation. He couldn't read his expression. Klaus was looking at him, not even blinking, before sighing deeply and turning to look at a wimping Greta. He seemed to be considering the mess that was his witch and probably his bit of fun.

'Alright.' Klaus agreed. 'But it is a shame to waste a perfectly good witch.'

Levi could see the flash of fear in Greta's eyes as she realised the truth. She didn't mean a thing to Klaus. It was a wonder to Levi how she could think Klaus cared about anything other than himself when she was helping him kill people for nothing more than his gain. Even Elijah was standing against his brother.

With Klaus's agreement and Greta now technically dead, Levi was able to take down the boundaries. Jenna's was the only one he did so for, the fire dissipating, leaving no trace.

Jenna looked at Elena who nodded and smiled at her. 'Go. I'll be fine.'

'I can't leave you, Elena.'

'You can. For Jeremy.'

This seemed to get through to her. Jenna looked up at Levi, at his hand, her mouth still wide in shock. He offered her a small smile as well.

'Find Stefan,' he advised her.

He knew Stefan could fill her in on what would happen to Elena as well as help her cope with the new emotions of being a vampire.
