Make up

I stayed up all night comforting Miriam and constantly holding her hand to remove the pain from her. I consumed her pain so she could rest.

"Child, haven't you any sleep?" Malakai came in with a cup of tea.

"She's in so much pain." I cried. "I can't leave her side." I consumed more pain and it was overwhelming.

"You cannot consume all of her pain."

"I'll do whatever it takes for her to be okay." I kissed her forehead and a white base covered her entire body.

"What did you do?" He asked handing me a cup of tea.

"It's for her to heal quickly." I drank the tea and looked at the bandage wrapped around her head to cover her eyes and cheeks.

"Get some rest, my child." He began to mix herbs.

"I'm not tired." I took another sip of the tea and realized that he put a sleeping remedy inside. "Malakai." I tried to stand but i just fell back down into the chair and the cup broke.

"You need to rest as well." He placed a knitted cover over me and I fell asleep.

I woke up in a bed that wasn't my own. I stood on my feet but lost my balance. I could hear Miriam's voice. I walked over to the door and realized I was sleeping in Malakai's bed.

"Good morning, Arya." Malakai wrapped a bandage around Miriam's head.

"Arya?" Miriam held out her hand and i took it.

"I'm here." I sat on the bed she rested on and she didn't know where to look.

"Malakai and I were just talking about what to have for breakfast." Seeing her in no pain and bubbly made me so happy that a few tears came down my cheek.

"What are you having for breakfast?" I asked and I watched her move her head to find my voice.

"I woke up dreaming of some waffles. I saw one of the Americans eat them. Oh, they looked so good. And they smelled delicious." She smiled and lifted her other hand to place on my face.

"I can get you some waffles." She placed her hand on my cheek.

"Why are you crying?" She continued to smile and I hugged her.

"I'm just glad you're okay."

"Walk me to the kitchen. I want to know what the chefs are making today." She always loved speaking with the chefs.

"Come on." Malakai and I helped her off the bed and she walked slowly.

"Now, Arya, " she held her hand out. "You better not purposely crash me into a wall." She laughed.

"No promises." I smiled.

"Malakai told me you sat by my side all night long."

"I was worried."

"And that he placed a sleeping remedy in your tea."

"Yes, unfortunately." I smiled.

"And that you slept for the entire day waking up just now."

"The entire day?" I looked at her.

"That's what I said. But he told me that Oliver and Lord Weylyn took care of everything that needed to be handled. Have you and Oliver spoken?"

"No, and I dont plan on seeing him. Not after the scene, he caused out in the yard."

"Oh, let the man be. He was just protecting his wife." She walked close to me. "He's very protective of you, Daisy and I. Especially Aladar."
