Reign

We returned home to Avallon and began bringing everyone back home.

I was in a room with Lord Carwin and Oliver entered the room, "you killed my son." He looked at me, "he had them kidnapped, Daisy and William, to trade for his life..."

"No." He shook his head.

"If the coup failed," he continued.

"What? No."

"But the kidnapping was botched, and William..." His face was starting to get red from crying. "My son, my infant son, was killed during the attempt."

I shook my head and began to take deep breaths.

"You murdered my son!" Oliver spoke trough his teeth with tears in his eyes.

"This can't be right. There must be a mistake." I couldn't believe it.

"There's no mistake!" He yelled at me. "I held Williams blood in my hands."

I gasped and put my hand on my chest, over my heart and held onto the table behind me.

"We captured one of his men and he confessed to everything." He pulled out his sword.

"Corwin, what have you done?"

"Nothing! I've done nothing!" He yelled.

"I should've killed you a long time ago." He raised his sword.

"Oliver!" I yelled and he swung his sword at Corwin. He purposely missed and Corwin shouted, "I would never harm Daisy or your son!"

"Speak again and I will cut out your heart!" He yelled at him like he yelled at Lynn. Only his voice sounds louder because we're indoors and you can hear the anger in his voice.

Corwin grunted and shuddered.

"Even if you didn't order it, my son is dead because of you."

"Oh, God, no..." I whispered and covered my mouth to muffle my cries.

"We will find Daisy, and you will lose your head, alone in this dungeon, before the day is done."

Corwin grunted and stood in fear. Oliver looked at me and walked away.

"I didn't harm your son!" Corwin yelled.

"The kidnappers took Wiliam and Diasy on their way back to the castle. We found one of the men, abandoned, wounded during the fight, and he gave up the plan to trade Daisy and William for Corwin. But the plan had already fallen apart. William... He fell..."

I inhaled and looked away.

"During the escape. His-his... His head..."

"Oliver." I sat beside him and he cried in my arms. I kissed his head and comforted him as I struggled to hold back the tears.

He sniffled and looked up, "we can't find Daisy anywhere." He pulled away from the hug. "The place where the kidnappers we're supposed the meet, there's no sign of them. I sent them away to protect them. All I can see is his face, everywhere. His smile." His voice trembled, "how-how could they..." He could barely speak anymore.

The door opened and he faced my direction giving the door his back view.

"Forgive me, Your Majesties..." Julian was in a hurry.

"Your Majesty, I told Julian..."

"Oliver, Daisy is still out there."

I wiped my tears and he looked at him. "Let me find her."
