Aboard Reese's ship, an hour later, approaching upper atmosphere.
*Reese's POV*
"Thanks, Elle." I thanked my onboard AI woman for helping me pilot the ship away from Kitano. I then shifted focus back to Colin, who was fiddling with his mace.
"So, anyways..." I continued on from two minutes ago. "You're half god?"
"Yes," Colin replied. "I'm half human, half Kodai."
I was a bit puzzled. "Kodai?"
"Yeah, it's the name of the race of people who we worshipped as gods, like Zeus, Odin, or my dad Thor."
My eyes widened at what he just said. "No."
Colin chuckled. "Yeah, my dad's Thor."
"Lemme guess, Captain America's your uncle?"
"Funny, but no. My dad actually has red hair and beard, and is a little more...stout than movie Thor. He actually likes those movies, believe it or not."
I was genuinely stunned; it all began to make sense. The super strength, speed, FLYING and reflexes. He was able to keep up with me, hell, almost beat me. His armor looked similar to Vikings and knights, a ring of fur around the neck area. The etchings in his armor...now that I thought about it, they were old Nordic runes.
"You're a long way from Asgard, Colin."
Colin's eyes dropped. "Yeah, there's a reason for that. Let's just say the Olympians and Asgardians hate each other, and it grew into war. Apollo and Ares led an attack on Asgard, and I got my good friend, who's also my half-brother, killed. I managed to kill Apollo, and sent the Olympians retreating. After that, dear old grandpa Odin had this mace made for me. Now, I'm just like Dad. But, I just couldn't face everyone after Modi was killed, and I can't help but blame...me."
"I...I...Damn." I stuttered. I guess family drama is not limited to us mortals. I felt sorry for Colin; while it was his half sibling, he looked at him like family, and nothing hurts more than losing one of yours.
"Colin, how long have you been out here?"
"Honestly, a little after you kicked that alien's ass back home."
I was stunned. "Really?"
"Yeah," Colin replied, "It was about the same time I found out about my parents. You see, I was raised by my aunt my whole life, and it was a hell of a shock to find out her sister had a kid with a Viking god."
Just then, Elle's avatar flickered into the room. She wore a loose dress, one reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe's iconic white one.
"Boys, we're coming up on Halcyon Four. There's a sizeable forest that should hide us from the Greys."
I smiled. "Take us down, Elle. Thanks." I winked at her.
Colin looked at her hologram, then me. "Uh, talk about computer love. Do you guys-"
"No." I blurted. "No, she's helped me survive these past few years. She knows the neighborhood better than anyone."
"Ohh." Colin realized. "Wait, why are you out here, Reese?"
I sighed. "To be honest, I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Only difference is, I killed someone myself."
Colin's eyes sunk. "Who was it, if you don't mind me asking."
"A friend of mine's girl. She got the woman I loved killed, and I...just snapped. I fought two of my friends, and I choked her to death. I was so angry."
"I'm sorry, bro. I'd probably do the same."
Elle looked back at me, a digital tear streamed down her cheek.
"I took a Grey combat stimulant before I fought them, and after it wore off, I was...ashamed. I figured the Sentinels, as well as my friends would hunt me down anywhere on Earth. So I stole this ship we're currently in, and...well you know the rest."
*Several minutes later*
(On the surface of Halcyon Four)
After Elle landed the ship, the rear loading doors opened up, and Colin and I looked out at the forest.
"Well, let's go." Elle said to us, to which I was puzzled.
"Uh, you can't go anywhere." I reminded.
Elle simply chuckled. "You don't remember? Commence upload to Synth-Shell 41-T."
Just then, the floor of the ship opened up, and out emerged a silver skinned, feminine shaped android shell; I immediately recognized it as the same prototype body I stole three years ago on Thurion during my first robbery on an alien mag-lev train. The 41-T's lights glowed blue as electrical energy transferred from the main console to the body.
"I forgot all about that thing." I spoke, reminded.
"I didn't." Elle replied from the robot shell. "I never did say thank you." She then kissed me on my cheek. Not going to lie, her lips were cold. Then again, it is a completely artificial body.
"You two need to get a room." Colin joked, to which I could feel my cheeks burn.
As we stepped off the ship, we were greeted by a pink-skinned woman running towards us. Her clothes were tattered, and she had blood down the side of her face.
"Oh thank the stars, please help!" The woman pleaded.
"Whoa whoa whoa," Colin stopped the frantic alien. "What happened? Are you okay?"
"No they're here, they're here! They killed them, the villagers!"
"Who?" Colin asked.
"First off, what's your name?" I asked her.
"Zarra! The Greys, they killed the people living in my village. Please help me!"
Colin, Elle and I looked at her, then at each other. Just when I thought I could get a break from those grey skinned, scrawny pukes.
