Chapter 29
"Huli na ang lahat," sabi saakin ng bobong si Greg.
I crinckled my nose. "Oh, really? Am I?"
I looked around to see the huge T.V screen. Nakayuko si Rake at may baril sa loob ng bibig nito. On the other screen mayroon bata na naglalaro at may nakabantay na lalaki dito. Tumingin ako sa paligid ko at nginisian ang lalaking nakatingin saakin. He stepped backward.
"You know what? I'm about to ask you what I do next?" Kinuha ko ang papel sa lamesa at binasa ang nakasulat dito. I saw my signature in it. "The hell with this bullshit? You think you can get away with this, Greg? Are you dumb?"
Ngumiti si Greg saakin at inilahad ang kamay. "Give it to me. I'll kill them if you don't."
"The hell I care?" I smiled at him devilishly. Tinago ko ang papel sa likuran ko habang mabagal na lumalakad sa harap niya. "You can them if you want to, I freaking don't mind. 'Ya know?"
"Ericka Quinn," pagbabanta nito. "Hindi ako nagbibiro," seryosong saad niya saakin.
"Do I look like a fucking clown to you? Hindi rin ako nagbibiro, Greg," I told him at inilabas muli ang papel. "Is this what you want? Ganon ba ako katanga para pirmahan ito dahil sa tinatakot mo ako? Wow. That bitch is really dumb."
Sumenyas si Greg sa tauhan niya at agad itong may binulong sa screen. The guy on the screen moved too, kinalas nito ang baril na hawak.
"Give it to me, last chance," ulit ni Greg.
"Last chance? Kanina mo pa sinasabi saakin 'yan, hindi ba? Just kill him. Go on," sabi ko. "Or you want me to say goodbye first, isn't it? Okay. I will." Lumapit ako sa screen at hinaplos ang mukha ni Rake na walang kamuwang-muwang. "Goodbye, Rake. It was nice meeting you not long time ago."
Halos mamula na ang mukha ni Greg sa sobrang galit sa sinasabi ko. Sinagot ko lang siya ng nakakalokong ngisi. "What? Are you going to kill me, too? Okay, do it now, dear."
Sumenyas ito sa gwardiya niya sa gilid. May sinabi ito sa earphone na hawak at sabay may putok ng baril akong narinig sa 'di kalayuan. The screen went black at nagpatay-sindi nanaman ang ilaw. I crossed my arms and watched it on and off like a freaking christmas light in halloween.
I waited and stumped my foot. I walked towards Greg's direction upang mapunta ako sa likuran niya. He was confused and ordered his guards to catch me but no one dare to move. Nang bumukas ang ilaw, magkaharap na ulit kami ni Greg.
His face went white dahil nagulat ito na ni isa sa tauhan niya ay walang sumusunod sakanya. He looked around, everyone were just staring at him not making any steps. Nang tumingin si Greg sa likod, his body stiffened when he saw himself on the screen.
"Well played, I guess?" komento ko at winagayway ang papel na hawak ko.
"A-anong ginawa mo?" natatakot na tanong nito saakin.
"Do you really want to know?" natatawang sabi ko. "Well, I guess you should know anyway."
I looked at him straight in the eyes. I'd never been this angry all through my life. But the timing was right. Rake Alicante came fo rme, we could be a good team against Greg.
"You don't have to ask me twice, Rake," I seriously said. "Tell me what am I going to do, I'll follow without a doubt."
"May mga tauhan ako na nagtatrabaho kay Greg, I did it para may nagbabantay ng bawat galaw niya. Now we will take this opportunity to manipulate his guards to switch side. There will be money involve, I'll take of that. All you have to do is to act as if you don't know what is happening."
