Chapter 11: Vixen

*Y/n POV*

I stepped out into the open, seeing the reindeer in front of me.

She was smaller than Comet and Blitzen, immediately tipping me off to who she was.

Vixen, the only female reindeer.

Despite being the only female, she was a commanding force among the reindeer. She could take control of all the boys and put them into their places better than any of the reindeer trainers.

But right now she was continually ramming her antlers against a nearby tree. The tree was creaking and groaning against her weight, and it looked as it was bound to fall soon.

I stepped on a nearby twig and it snapped, causing her to turn and face me. She let out an angry breath, as she began to walk towards me slowly. She obviously didn't recognize me, as she stepped forward suspiciously.

Suddenly, she kicked her front legs up and flailed them. I ducked down to avoid her hooves and she dropped back down to the ground, taking an offensive position.

"Vixen," I called out, my voice calm, "You need to calm down, girl. It's okay, I'm right here."

She let out an angry groan and charged at me, her antlers angled to attack. I wasn't as afraid as I was with Blitzen, but I still didn't want to get hit anytime soon. I dodged out of the way and let her ram into the tree behind me, causing the entire thing to shake.

"Alright, talking isn't going to work," I noted, "Maybe I can try-"

I was cut off as Vixen charged at me again, and I dodged out of the way. She stopped herself and turned to charge at me again, only to trip and fall in the snow.

"Y/n!" Izuku called, "I'm coming to help!"

"No!" I yelled, "Stay back!"

I watched Vixen stand back up and prepare for another charge, stomping her hoof on the ground. I straightened up and looked her in the eyes, beginning to sing.

"Silent night," I sang, "Holy night..."

Vixen's demeanor faltered slightly, as my singing broke through her angry shell. She shook her head and righted herself again, letting out a groan.

"All is calm, all is bright," I continued, "Round yon Virgin, mother and child..."

She began to sway slightly, in time with the music. Her eyes softened slightly as well, no longer as angry as they were.

"Holy infant, so tender and mild... Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace..."

Her swaying became more pronounced, and her muscles became less tense. She stumbled forward slightly, her steps slow and weak. Her breathing was slow and labored, and it was obvious she was fighting to stay awake.

"Sleep in heavenly peace..."

She stumbled forward once more and fell to the ground, falling to her side. She slowly closed her eyes, her breathing slowing.

"Sleep in heavenly peace..."
