The house was silent, as silent as mice. No noises at all, not even the breeze from the air conditioner could be heard. I've sorted everything out. I'm going back to mum and dad. No more album, no more anything. I walk upstairs and start packing my bags. A tear rolls down my cheeks and lands slowly onto my suitcase. I finish packing easily and carry it downstairs. Then I write a note to Lucas.
I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. I wanted to tell you, I really did. But I didn't know how. What would you have done? Anyway, I guess you won't hear much anymore. But now it's time to go, I'll see you whenever. I love you, however much you may hate me,
Lots of love, Avery xxxThen I leave. I take one last look at the house before getting into the taxi and they drive me to the airport. I pay them before getting to the security section. As usual, the alarm bleeps off and I groan varies following the security guard into a small room. He looks for anything which could've set it off and can't find anything so he let's me go. I go to the place and board. I look out the window of I can't help thinking, that if this was a movie, he'd be here by now, to stop my going. But this isn't a movie, and nothing has a happy ending. The plane leaves then, and I know there's no turning back.
At the end of the flight, I get off the plane and claim my baggage. Then I go out and get a taxi. I get to my parents' house quickly and I knock on the door. My mum answers and she looks shocked to see me.
"Surprise?" I ask unsurely and she immediately hugs me.
"I saw the interview. Twenty five?" She asks, quietly.
"Yeah," I whisper before she lets me enter the house.
"Are you staying?" Mum asks.
"Yeah," I reply, sitting on the sofa.
Lucas's POV (BEFORE AVERY HAS LEFT)
I walk down the streets of Hollywood. Cameras flash but I ignore them and continue walking. I was shocked to find out about how long she has left. I was also hurt. Why couldn't she tell me? And disappointment came to mind. Have I done something wrong?
I finally decide to go home, after about two hours of walking. I go home and see Alec, River, Tyler and Max stood outside waiting patiently.
"Either she's not there or she doesn't want to talk. The doors locked and we've been knocking for half an hour.
"Good thing I have a key then," I state, fishing my key out and unlocking the door. I enter, Uplift following. I walk upstairs, knowing that if she's upset, she'll go and lock herself in her room. I knock on her door and there's no answer. I open the door and look inside the room. Bare. Blank. Nothing there. Empty. Stripped.
"Lucas!" Alec yells and I run downstairs.
"Here's a note from her," Alec says, handing me a slip of paper.
I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. I wanted to tell you, I really did. But I didn't know how. What would you have done? Anyway, I guess you won't hear about me much anymore. But now it's time to go, I'll see you whenever. I love you, however much you may hate me,
Lots of love, Avery xxx"So she's just left?" I ask, taking a deep breath.
"I guess," Alec replies, sighing. I get my phone out quickly and dial her number. No answer, of course.
And that's when it hits me.
I've ruined everything.
The one person I've ever cared for.
Avery Knight, I love you.
Please don't leave me, sis.
I'll miss you.
And that's when the heartbreaking words leave my lips.
"She's gone," I whisper, before tears start to fall.
