Piper. She's beautiful. She's a princess - literally. She's stolen my heart.

The way her dark, braided hair bounces as she walks, the way her eyes seem to shift colours in a beautifully mesmerising way, the way her mouth twitches as she giggles that sweet, high pitched giggle - my heart aches just thinking about her.

Jason. He's a devil. He's a snobby, rich brat. He's stolen my Piper.

The way he walks into a room like he owns the place, the way his hair flaps about in the wind, the way he put his arm around Piper when we first met, being a selfish, overprotective punk that gives my darling Piper no freedom to make her own decisions - he makes me want to hurl.

"Draco Malfoy?" Wait, what? "Draco Malfoy?" Oh, it's the register.
"Yes, sir," I replied. Pansy smirked.

Then, I remembered where I was. Charms. Professor Flitwick was doing the register. Slytherins and Gryffindors. Right. I had been daydreaming about Princess Piper and that moron, Jason.

I sneaked a quick peak at Piper, who was sitting next to Kori, who was sitting next to me. She was chewing her pencil, lost in thought. She was so cute!

I remembered the sorting. I was so elated when I found that Piper was in Slytherin with me! It just shows how little she has in common with Jason, who's a no-good Gryffindor. She also came and sat opposite me. Our first conversation was brilliant! I could tell she was really warming up to me. Jason will have been dumped by the end of the week!

"Could you pass the salt please?" Piper asked me.
I nodded and said, "here you go, your highness. May I just say that your eyes are mesmerising!" while passing the salt.
"I'm very sorry, but I think you have made a mistake. This is the pepper." So polite! She didn't want to hurt my feelings: she liked me already!
"Sorry, here," I replied, handing her the real salt. Shivers were sent down my spine as her hand brushed agains mine. I blushed.

"I love your style! Your clothes really contrast with the bright red of your lips," I told her. She scowled and purses her lips, but I could tell it was only because she was trying to hold back a grin at the compliment. Playing hard to get? I can work with that.
"I am wearing school robes, just like you. Like all of the students in this room," she pointed out stiffly. Oops.

After dinner was over and the school was dismissed to their dorms, I saw Princess Piper looking around, alone. I walked over to her and said, "my lady, would you like me to escort you to our common room?" and offered my arm.
"That would be much appreciated," she replied, but ignored my arm. I smiled and led the way.

"Mr Malfoy." What? "Mr Malfoy."
"Sorry," I said when I realised that Professor Flitwick was talking to me.
"Five points from Slytherin. I would suggest that you stare at what I am demonstrating instead of staring at Her Royal Highness. Talking to is much more effective than staring at. And please do it outside my lesson. Thank you," he told me. I felt my face burn. Despite losing house points, some of the other Slytherins sniggered.

I glanced at Piper and saw that she was slightly pinker than normal, too. Oh no, in a way I just humiliated her too! In front of the whole class! What am I going to do with myself? I'm cursed! She'll hate me now - this is probably the most humiliated she's ever been!

I decided I should stop daydreaming and focus. There's only so many times you can plan your first date, right? In the Christmas holidays, we could go and have a nice steak, maybe a photo shoot, I'm sure she'd love going clothes shopping... sorry. Daydreaming again. Back to class.

"... make sure you flick your wand - not too much, mind - and it is very important that you aim correctly. You don't want this spell to hit the wrong target..."
"What spell are we doing?" I whispered to Kori. She rolled her eyes.
"Why aren't you paying attention?" she demanded quietly, "It's a persuasion charm. It can convince people to do something, but only lasts for a few minutes. Good for a distraction. Easier to withstand than the imperious curse and nowhere near as dangerous." Sounds fun. And useful. Maybe I could use it on Dad while I sneak out on a date with Piper at Christmas.

"Now can you please find a partner and start practicing," Professor Flitwick called. Who should I go with? Immediately, I though of Piper, but saw that she was already with that moron, Jason. Really, a Gryffindor and Slytherin dating? Won't last long. I noticed that the other prince - Percy - was partnered with that maid. Honestly, who brings your own personal maid to school? Just shows how stuck up and helpless those royals really are (but not Piper, obviously - she doesn't belong with them).

Since Piper was with Prince Girlfriend-Stealer, Kori ended up going with me. That was fine, much better than going with Crabbe or Pansy (we had fallen out after the war), who were the only other Slytherins without a partner.

Kori and I stood facing opposite each other, as we had done so many times before, and got into position.
"So, how do you do it?" I asked Kori.
She rolled her eyes. "How do you know any magic at all?" she retorted, "Watch."

"Persio!" she called, giving her wand a small flick. A ball of baby pink light flew towards me and hit me in the middle of the chest. "Get down onto your belly and pretend to be a snake," she commanded then smirked. To my horror, I really wanted to pretend to be a snake, so I flattened myself on the floor with my arms out in front of me and started wiggling around the room, hissing. What a great first day back at school. Please note the sarcasm.

As I slithered over to where Piper and Prince Girlfriend-Stealer were practising, I may have accidentally overheard their conversation. Purely by accident. Definitely.

There was so much noise that you could pretty much hear the person next to you and not much else. Obviously, because of this, my dear Princess Piper and that idiot Prince Jason thought that their conversation was private.

"Pipes! Stop cheating!" Jason called. Cheating, how can you cheat?
"I'm not! Just because you can't do it, don't accuse me of cheating!" Piper replied, smiling. Hah! Jason can't do it!
"Of course I can do it!" Jason exclaimed. Of course he can't.
"Prove it!" Yeah Jason, prove it!
"Per-persio!" he called. Nothing happened. Ha ha! Piper rolled her eyes.
"This is how you do it, Jason. Persio!" A baby pink light erupted from her wand tip and hit Jason in the chest. "Give me a kiss!" she demanded. What! She could make him do anything, and she chose to have a kiss with him! Noooooooooo!!!
"You don't have to use a spell to make me kiss you. Just ask!" he said as he walked over and planted his lips on Piper's. I looked away. It was too painful to watch.

I was determined that this would never happen again. I would do what's it takes to be with Piper. Jason, be warned.
