"Janny, was that all a joke out there?" My mom asks. Damn it devil. "Yes mom. I don't have a boyfriend." "You know how dangerous the world is these days. Never trust anyone! Not even kind looking people!" "I know mom. Look, I barely know Lucifer!" "That's why it's dangerous! If you don't know a person exactly, you don't know if he or she is making something up!" Ugh. Same old, same old. "Mom, you know I'm careful." "You need to be more careful." She exclaims, wearing a stern look. "I know how bad the world is out there." I say, praying that this lecture would end. "Do you need me to go with you to the library after school? Show that boy you're meeting to never touch my daughter?" She asks.

Damn it devil. "No. Even Helen will be there." "Boys are strong Janny, you don't know when they'll go crazy." Argh! Damn it devil!! "I will be careful mom. Don't worry." I say for the final time, getting up. My mom nods though I know she is unsure and gets up too. Damn it devil. And this time, I mean it like crazy.
