The ball, the dress, and the night

I look at myself in the mirror. Exhausting. Sure, sure, the dress looks perfect to me. It makes me look... hot? Cute? Fit? Tight? A bit like that. It's comfortable and nice. I think the color suits me too. Brown with a bit of whiteness on the bottom. It barely covers half of my thigh though. How... shocking. It's too short. I hurriedly put my necklace on, pretending sarcastically as if I was some person that needed to put this necklace on to make a dream into reality. Crazy sarcastic indeed. I hear a few knocks outside. I open the bathroom door, seeing Ben in front of me in a nice suit. Blue, black, the colors looking great on him. Nice. "Hi." I say, smiling at him. "You look..." He starts to say, coughing a bit before finishing off the sentence.

"You okay?" I ask. "You look... you just look-" "Hey, hey, Ben! The carriage arrived!" I hear Ben's mom yell outside. "Well, we'll just talk in the carriage, okay?" "Sure." I and Ben run down to catch the carriage, arriving just before it stopped. "Lady first." He quickly says, opening the door for me. "Thanks." He quickly gets in after me. The carriage man yells at his horses a few times, as the carriage starts moving. "I was just trying to say you look pretty." Ben says as I continue looking out the window. "Hmm... thanks." The night was full of stars, making it unbelievably a quiet and peaceful sky. Pretty.
