Christiana was placed in the seat behind his and she didn't speak during the whole ride. The ride from Dupont Circle, Leominster, Massachusetts till the police department on Church St. only took five minutes during which Dean, still driving, kept looking every once in a while in the rear view mirror at Christiana. Roberta started a conversation with Julia as if they were old friends and Christiana stared from the window at the passing scenery.

If Christiana had noticed the quick glances he gave her in the mirror she hadn't said anything about it or even attempted to show him she had noticed but she seemed uneasy and maybe a little confused.

Julia however was well trained and nothing seemed to escape her notice like the few photos in the house which held pictures of either Mr. and Mrs. Montez Christiana's parents or of Miss Christiana which indicate that Christiana and her folks weren't so close and she knew for a fact that they weren't close because they had an informant.

Julia hadn't failed to realize also the quick glances Dean was throwing in Christiana's direction or the way he had looked at her for the first time as if struck by lightning or even the look on his face as he tried to control his lust. She was a professional as was he, he was like a younger brother to her but she wouldn't confront him with the details she had noticed. She was sure that he was a professional and that he would always handle matters as such.

Whatever the consequences and whoever was involved even if it were his own parents and they had committed a crime he would have arrested them himself for he was married to justice and truth and no one can ever tear them away from him.

Besides if what they heard was true there was nothing to fear from Christiana who would soon see the light and realize what a great asset she is in the deal they were going to propose.

They parked the car in front of the office building. One officer standing on the sidewalk came to the doors and opened both those on the right side of the car for Julia and Roberta to come out while Dean turned off the ignition and shot out of his seat and opened the door for Christiana.

She stepped out of the vehicle and followed the detectives and Roberta as they led the way into the police station and then into Dean's office. They came in by the office door that was held by officer Mac Rivers until they got all in then he closed it behind them so that their conversation wouldn't be heard. They were invited to take a seat in front of his desk as he perched his left hip on the right side of his desk and waited until Julia took a seat behind the table.

"Mrs. Roberta," he began, "would you like to begin or would you prefer that I commence." He waited for Roberta's reply but he was looking at Christiana's face and registering each startled expression she showed.

"Go on by all means." Roberta offered.

Detective Mac Rivers held his hand out, palm up and Julia placed in his outstretch hand a folder on which the word "confidential" was embossed.

As he took the folder he opened it very calmly and patiently seemingly unaware of the impatient stares that Christiana directed his way.

He started flipping through the pages with infinite delicacy and care as though the pages were made of glass, and if handled roughly would shatter in mass.

Then in a sudden unexpected move he threw the open folder in Christiana's direction allowing her a full and unregulated view of its contents.

"Miss Christiana Bella Montez daughter of Carlos Rodriguez Montez and Linda Isabella Morena Montez," He stated as if quoting the first lines from the folder that was exposed freely to Christiana's view and on which she could clearly see her picture and pages filled with information on her that she, herself hadn't known.
