“Okay,” Troye said, smiling slightly. Tyler smiled behind him, tapping him on the shoulder.
“That sounds great! So the date is August 7th, then, right? Okay, great. Thanks. Yeah, I’m excited too.” Troye put down the phone then turned to face Tyler.
“We did it! We did it!” The two of them repeated this like a chant, jumping around in circles, and eventually Tyler enveloped Troye into a hug.
“This is so perfect, though. And on your anniversary of coming out. My body, is so not ready for your album. And I doubt that any of your people are, either.”
Troye giggled. They had just set a date for his album, and he couldn’t be more ecstatic.
---------One Month Later-----------
“What?! You didn’t get nutella? Are you kidding? Come on, we’ve only been together for what? A total of a year and two months?” Troye tried to act mad at Tyler, causing Tyler to innocently place his lips on Troye’s neck.
“Whoops,” he said, drawing out the word as he watched Troye’s face collapse into a smile.
“I’m not letting you go this easy,” Troye said. Looking down at Tyler, he ran his hand absentmindedly through his now green hair. “You’ve only got one more month with me.”
Troye watched as Tyler’s head shot up from Troye’s chest. His eyes grew big, and he placed his hand over his mouth, mouthing “Oh no” over and over. He lifted his hand and his jaw was dropped, concern, loss and grief in his eyebrows.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean, I mean, I thought you knew,” Troye trailed off as he realized he wasn’t helping his boyfriend feel any better.
“It’s a whole month! That’s so long, right? Imagine what we could do it a month.” Troye feeble attempt at reassuring both himself and Tyler didn’t go over too well. Troye could tell that as Tyler murmured “Yeah, you’re right,” that Tyler wasn’t being totally truthful.
“So, what should we do today? Neither of us has anything, right?” Tyler asked. Afterall, it was a Saturday.
Troye bit his lip, trying to decide he if should state his idea or not. Soon, Tyler caught on.
“Okay, you can tell me, what do you want to do?” Tyler rolled his eyes.
“DISNEY!” Troye screamed. He jumped up and down, over and over. “LET’S GO TO DISNEY!”
“Okay, for one, you need calm down. Second of all, it’s already afternoon.”
“Yeah, but we could go now, go on rides, and then we could go get food, and then…” Troye pulled on Tyler’s shirt sleeve, exposing his shoulder.
“You had me at food,” Tyler giggled, pulling his shirt back up. “Let’s go!”
20 minutes later, they were ready. Tyler was wearing his signature mickey train conductors hat, and the two were adorable in their matching Mickey shirts. The two packed their backpacks and were ready for the day. At least, what was left of it.
After a couple of rides, popcorn, cotton candy, and funnel cake, it was around 7, and they were wrapping it up. They were planning to go on one more ride, then watch the World Of Color.
“That one!” said Troye, pointing to the biggest roller coaster. “Let’s go!” He dragged his boyfriend to the line, which was very short because of the time.
Tyler was excited until they got to the front. Suddenly, the drop looked bigger, and the branches looked even scarier in the black night sky. The dark tunnels looked like exactly the place where a monster would hide, and a hundred scenarios of how they could die popped into Tyler’s head.
