summary
The Haunting tale of the Hawley family was kept secret for many, many years as guilt lingered through the words as it was being told, The Hawley siblings lived to follow the footsteps of their parents, History had a funny was of almost repeating itself.
The Hawley siblings found peace at Hogwarts, Mira was known as the girl with scars on her face, but never really knowing the truth of why, so many things had been kept from her and she was lost in many ways, that was until Jame Fleamont Potter came into her life and as much as she loved to hate him, the stars lined up perfectly.

ok, so this has been on my to read list for quite some time, and wOW. i wish i didn't wait to read such a novel! i normally don't read james potter fanfiction bc as much as i love james, i have always shipped jily. however, the plot and the character and everything is just amazing! big kudos the author. the plot is thick and keeps the reader interested in what's next which is a big big plus.
before i go on, quick heads up, there is a trigger warning for r*pe in ONE CHAPTER that isn't relevant to the storyline, but relevant to mira's father's character development. the warning is at the beginning of the chapter and you can most definitely not read it, and still know exactly what's going on in the story. the topic of r*pe doesn't come up again after that. the author explains that the chapter was written for awareness rather than the purpose of the storyline. again, there's an entire trigger warning at the beginning on the chapter, but i'm letting you know in case you are sensitive to the topic. <3
alright, now the book. mira is such a cute, fierce character. i really enjoyed reading how her and james' relationship begins to develop slowly. it was actually satisfying. the reason i gave it a 7/10 is even though i loved the storyline (and the cover is jaw-dropping!), there were a few things that i personally didn't like. one was that it started/took off in third year. i thought that the drama was very suffocating for a 13-year-old. like i thought she was like 15 until it mentioned she was in third year.
also, just the sentence structure, in which i got confused a few times on who was saying what. (not a big dealio, just a personal pet peeve).
and finally, the numerous amount of panic attacks. now before i talk about it, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH PANIC ATTACKS. this is not a critique at all. if anything this is a disclaimer or trigger warning. i am mentally stable and yet i felt slightly uncomfortable while reading about her panic attacks so if you have any sort of disturbance with them, please proceed with caution. <3
i understand that this rating was a little harsh compared to the other books i've reviewed. if the author does read this, please know i don't mean any sort of hate upon you or your book. i legit love it so much, and am waiting for the next chapter.
i also don't mean to discourage anyone from reading it. if i don't like a book, i wouldn't review lol. lower ratings is kinda a scale of how much i'd recommend it. like if you're talking to your friend, and you recommend a book and say it's 4 out of 5 stars good. the rating just percieves to how much i'd recommend it.
the reason i'd recommend it less than other books is because of the trigger warning, and the discomfort i personally felt while reading it. that's all. the book is fabulous and anyone would love the storyline. lotta love to this book
