Beau had held onto that secret for all of twenty-four hours. She couldn't have kept it from her friends much longer and when the four of them found out they weren't shocked, but had pretended to be. Of course, they didn't know for sure that what'd happened that day had anything to do with Lucas and Jolene, but they were all keeping their eyes out for anything else suspicious that was going on.
"Wait, so it could be a teacher?" Gabby whispered as the five of them sat in the library.
Beau nodded in a very matter of fact way. "Or a pupil."
Marcus started to join the conversation but kept his head in his book. "And you're not going to tell dear Lucas or your bestie Jolene about this?" Teddy snapped his head to face Marcus, his glare digging into him.
"Nope. I figured we needed to sort this one out ourselves, the five of us." Beau smiled at them and they smiled back. Even though Beau was smiling she knew there was a lack of communication going on. They knew something she didn't and she was determined to find out.
"Well, the good news is, your Mum's not a murderer." Teddy put his hands in the table and gathered his books. "Come on Marcus, Potions."
Gabby checked her watch as well. "Awe, babe we've got to go and set up for practise, let's go." She said to Blake who followed her lead. "Bye Beau, love you!"
"See you guys later." Beau waved them off and sighed as she looked around afterwards. She had a satisfied look on her face, because even though there was an uncomfortable air around them, her Mum wasn't in Azkaban.
For that she was thankful.

"Go on Gabby!"
"Yes! Get in there!"
"Go on guys! You can do this!"
Beau stifled a laugh as Marcus waved his arms around in the air, basically copying Teddy. "What?" He asked, laughing along because he knew he looked stupid.
"Marcus, let's face it, you don't understand quidditch at all." Beau told him plainly, looking back at the pitch. The three of them were stood watching the last quidditch match of the year, Slytherin vs. Ravenclaw. The season would be finished after Christmas with matches for 4th place and 3rd place coming first, and then for 2nd and 1st.
Gabby was pretty determined to win.
"Slytherin has caught the snitch! The game is over! Slytherin wins!"
"YES!" Teddy screamed so loud Beau and Marcus had no choice but to cover their ears.
"Why is he so happy?" Marcus shouted to Beau.
Beau shrugged as Teddy tossed both his arms over his two friends. "Because now, Hufflepuff play Ravenclaw for third place and Slytherin play Gryffindor for the winner of this year." They began to walk down to the pitch to congratulate Blake and Gabby who were cheering amongst themselves.
"Told you we were gonna come at least second!" Blake was ecstatic as he pulled his girlfriend in for a hug that lasted longer than he anticipated.
They were interrupted by Genevie, Gabby's younger sister. "Ew, you two are gross." She pulled a face as Gabby ran over to hug her as well. "Congratulations, sis!"
"Thanks, you know what this mean though." Gabby explained, still breathing heavily from all that Keeping she'd been doing. "Dad will have to come and watch the final."
"Which will be hard, seeing as it's against Gryffindor." Genevie screwed up one side of her face but smiled all the same. Gabby was about to open her mouth to reply when Teddy jumped on her back.
"Well done, guys." Beau brightened up as she approached Blake and Gabby. "You were amazing!"
"Thanks, Beau." Blake smiled. "Your siblings are pretty good too, eh?" He said loudly as George and Raelyn walked by.
Beau looked at the two of them for a second, almost as if time stopped. "Dad would be so proud." The twins smiled widely as they explained to their sister they had to go and get washed as they were 'going out' later, which meant dung bombs were going to be used, supposedly.
As the twins walked out of her sight, Beau spotted Lucas looking at her. Not in a creepy way, the sort of way you'd look at a person if you were trying catch their attention, which was his intent. "Are you going away for the holidays?" He asked, walking towards her.
Beau quickly turned her head to check he wasn't talking to anyone else. When she turned back he was stood right in front of her, smiling at her questioning demeanour. "Me? Oh, yeah. I'm going back to be with my family over Christmas."
Lucas nodded casually before running his hand through his hair. "Look, Beau, maybe if you're not busy when you get back we could spend some more time together?"
Beau gulped as she stared into his eyes. He was significantly taller than her.
"I mean - I think we get on well and I really wanna get to know you better." Lucas finished, his cheeks tinted pink as he could see Beau's friends spectating from behind her.
"Of course, I'd love that." Beau smiled brightly and Lucas exchanged it.
"Don't worry Lucas, she doesn't bite!" Teddy shouted. Then, the four of Beau's friends erupted with laughter.
Beau only rolled her eyes as she saw Lucas' cheeks deepen in colour. "Shall we piss them off?"
"By doing what?" Lucas laughed, the colour fading.
"I'll see you soon, Lucas. Merry Christmas." She wrapped her arms round his neck and rested her head on his shoulder.
Teddy almost flipped to see Beau, the girl he practically classed as his sister, hugging another boy that wasn't him, Marcus, Blake, either of her brothers, her Dad or any other male relation to her. Blake had to hold him back. When Beau began to walk back to her friends she could sense Teddy's backlash.
"What the hell was that?" He asked, it was almost a protective manner but Beau couldn't be certain.
"What do mean?" She questioned.
Teddy flailed his arms around in front of him. "That!"
"It was just a hug, Ted." Beau rolled her eyes and began to walk off the pitch.
Blake turned to Marcus. "Won't be 'just a hug' in a few months." He whispered, this only made Teddy's anger intensify.
Gabby ran after Beau. "Jeez, wait until the first date, Bee. It'll be your first, and potentially last." The two girls laughed as they proceeded back to their dormitories.
Beau knew she had to pack for Christmas, it was only a week she would be gone for but it wasn't the same leaving knowing Blake and Gabby were staying. The only reason they were staying was because Gabby couldn't bear seeing her Dad before the quidditch finals, she knew that all he'd talk about was how great Gryffindor are, and how many times he'd beat Slytherin in the finals before.
Blake was staying because he didn't want his girlfriend to be alone. It was all sweet and innocent, for now.
This was to be the last Christmas they spent knowing they were all completely out of harms way, knowing they weren't in danger.
It would all be downhill from here on.
