Last night was a wild ride.

When I woke up, Wooyoung was already gone and so was Seonghwa, leaving me with just Hongjoong, who was still deep asleep.

I got up and swung my legs to the side, rubbing my face to try and get rid of the sleep that lingered through my body.

My mind kept replaying what happened with the two vampires who were absent from the room. I didn't want to face them this morning, especially Woo. I don't know why I let everything go as far as it did, but the way how he was kissing on my neck so feverishly this time had made all sense of logic leave my mind.

" Are you okay?"

I turned my head around to see Hongjoong waking up; his hair messy from tossing and turning.

" Yes, I'm fine." I gave a tight-lipped smile as he leaned over across the bed and took a deep inhale. I let him do as he pleased before he adjusted himself to sitting beside me.

" You smell like me and Seonghwa now. That's good." He gave a cute smile as he went to gently rubbed my back, almost easing my stress about last night.  " Even if San or Wooyoung don't come with you, you can now enter the barrier as much as you want."

I nodded before he stood up and I had followed suit. " Seonghwa is probably making breakfast for you, so let's go down to the kitchen."

Hongjoong guided me threw the endless halls until we both can hear loud chatter once again from the direction we were heading to. I looked beside me to see Hongjoong pinching the bridge of his nose. " Even in the early morning, they are loud and rambunctious. I don't sleep enough for this crap."

I laughed and gave him a pat on his shoulder as we both walked inside to see Seonghwa at the stove with the cutest apron on, scolding San, Wooyoung, and Mingi with a spatula. It was quite a funny scene to walk into. The moment I was noticed, San made his way over to me and hugged me.

" Sorry I wasn't with you last night. You can fight Mingi about it." He teased as he sent a glare at the redhead, who merely scoffed.

" You enjoyed it, so I don't want to hear it." Mingi rebuked, " Plus, she can't beat me."

" I don't play fair. I'll stab you if it makes you feel any better." For some reason, I found myself having a secret love of messing with this tall redheaded vampire. It's just a new form of amusement.

" You think you can get close enough to me with a blade?" He raised a brow questioningly, always ready to challenge my words.

" You think you can go a few minutes without speaking? I know I'm asking for a lot, but I do believe in miracles." I left San besides Hongjoong as I went to sit down at the island counter, closing the distance a bit between us. Wooyoung being the only thing separating us two.

Before Mingi could say another, Seonghwa stopped it all as he set a plate down in front of me. " Leave her alone and let her eat in peace." He looked up at Mingi and he let out a bratty sound.

" Why is it always me that gets in trouble? She's going back and forth with me." Mingi whined and it made you smirk as you focused on the fluffy pancakes in front of you.

" Yeah, you're right." Seonghwa said as he quickly plucked me in the forehead, catching me off guard and dropping the fork in my hand. The action of this earned a laugh from Mingi.

" Ow! What was that for?" I whined as I rubbed my forehead and looked up at Seonghwa who was removing his apron from his body.

" Stop causing problems in my den." His voice was teasing and he held no ill-will in his eyes as he smiled, clearly being playful.

" My my, you got hyung teasing you too. What a lucky girl." San laughed as his eyes happened to drift down and you could see his jaw tightened.

" What's the matter?"

He didn't answer me and simply pulled the collar of the borrowed shirt I wore until it showed off the fresh bite wound from last night. " When did this happen?"

I got quiet for a bit, looking down. Not knowing how to word last night correctly. Along with the tone of his voice, it was clear that Wooyoung had said nothing to San about it this morning as well.

Hongjoong walked over between us, peeling the collar back to get a look for himself, " Oh my I didn't notice this when I woke up, but I do know that it wasn't there when we all went to sleep." Hongjoong gave you curious eyes as he waited for an answer that you simply didn't know how to give.

" She got that last night when you were sleeping Joong." Seonghwa started, not facing that group as he was washing dishes, " She got that from Wooyoung last night and I watched it all to ensure he didn't lose control."

San stared at my profile before leaning forward to stare at Wooyoung with an unreadable face. It took a minute or two before he tilted his head down and raised it back up with a warm smile.

" I'm happy that you upgraded from fledgling Woo-ya." His gaze turned back to me, " When you're all healed up, don't forget about me okay?" He smiled at you and you only nodded your head.

" I promised to help Yeosangie with something, so I'll see you two before we leave okay?" San stood up from the stool that he was sitting on.

" Yeah, that's fine. I'll call you when Mr. Woo gets here." Wooyoung told him as he watched the dark-haired vampire leave the kitchen.

I decided to just sit there quietly, eating the pancakes that Seonghwa had made for me, despite my stomach wanting to deny itself the food. Something was off with San. His smile didn't reach his eyes and by the way his jaw tightened for that split second before speaking, it just felt like there was something else on his mind.

But how could I really know? I barely know this man and I could be completely wrong. I'm still the only human in this place and I barely know as much about these boys as I think I do. There's no reason to start serious trouble that I can't handle myself.

So as I slowly ate the rest of the food and chitchat with Wooyoung, there was no sign of San until it was time for us all to say goodbye to the den and head back to our shared home. With a silent care ride, due to a sense of uneasiness that even my human senses could feel, we quietly sat in the back of the car with the only audible sounds coming from the low music that Mr.Woo was playing.
