After breakfast, Hayley went to put on clothes to leave. I waited on her on the couch. I was so tired. My mother kept calling me and texting me. It was driving me nuts. I know she was worried. But I was fine. Dad was just a dick.
I picked up the phone, putting it on speaker. "Yes, mother?"
"Oh, honey. It's good to hear your voice. Are you doing okay?"
"Yes."
"Your father had no right. When he isn't around, you can come over any time. You will also bring Hayley. I like her a lot."
That made me smile. "I like her a lot too. I may. I just need time. Your husband really pissed me off."
I heard her sigh, then get quiet. Father must have entered the room. "I have to go. I love you."
The phone hung up. I would have cried but Hayley walked out in her outfit I bought her. She loved layers, so she had on a skirt, maroon blouse, with stockings, a coat, and heeled boots. She hated that I was so tall. But I loved that she was small and cute. Especially when she got frustrated or mad.

I got up and gave her a quick kiss on the lips

I got up and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. "You look gorgeous, pretty girl."
She blushed. "Let's go before we are late for dinner."
I helped her into the car, then went around and got in. My phone dinged.

You look hot! ☺️ -Hayley

I leaned over and kissed her lips

I leaned over and kissed her lips. "Thank you."

Two hours later we were in the city and at one of the biggest buildings there was. It belonged to Will. But the ladies and others knew him as William Knoxston. He owned a lot of businesses and kept on buying them. The man had money out the ass.
Hayley gasped when I went through the gates to go under the building. I smiled, I remembered my first time being here, faintly. I was intoxicated. Not only with alcohol but drugs as well. Will brought me here and locked me away in his freaking tower. I went through withdrawals and puked my guts out. It took him a year to get me back on track. For that year, I worked for him. Something I was going to discuss doing again.
I went out on my own just to test the waters. Working where I am now. I knew I could do it on my own. But let's face it, Will had better opportunities for me. Plus, I'd be able to help Hayley out more. I wanted to be in a good place for when I asked her to marry me in the future.
I parked the car and went around to help Hayley out. "My lady."
She grabbed my hand and let me pull her up. "You ready to meet my friend? Don't worry, he knows sign language and so does his husband. We are in great hands." I took her hand and went to the elevators.
I typed in the code and the elevator took us up to the top floor. Penthouse. Probably one of the biggest penthouses I've seen in my life. The elevator doors opened. The music was classical and I could smell the warm and coziness of their penthouse.
Will's husband heard the elevator ding and came to check it out. "Oh my gosh, as I live and breathe. Eli, what are you doing here?"
"Business with your husband." I gave Gabe a hug.
"Well, he is in his office right now. He should be out soon." Gabe smiled. Then looked behind me. "Who is this dashing woman?"
I laughed, holding out my hand. "This is Hayley. My girlfriend."
"Wow, she is stunning Eli." He looked at Hayley. "Do you want something to drink?"
"Oh, she signs Gabe."
"Oh, I got this covered." He held onto Hayley's hand and drug her to the kitchen. Hayley looked at me, I nodded giving her the okay.
I went to look for Will. I heard him on the phone arguing with someone. I opened his office door, stepping in. He had no idea I was there. I took a seat in front of his desk, watching him go back and forth. He was pissed.
"You fucking bastard! You said that deal was mine! I'll be calling my fucking lawyer!" He slammed down the phone.
"Nice to see the performance. If only I had snacks." He looked up, the anger leaving his eyes.
"Fuck, Eli. You're an asshole." He said with a thick Irish accent.
I got up and he rounded the desk. We hugged tight. Will was like a brother to me. The one person who got me through everything most of the time. Until Hayley.
"Dinner or business first?" I let go.
He chuckled. "No, hey Will, how are you?"
I laughed. "Sorry. Hey, Will, how's it going?"
"Cheeky mother fucker." He sat down. "Sit, please.
I sat in front of him. "No, seriously, how is everything? What was that about?"
"Fucking assholes went behind me."
"You know you can file the A-89 and put a lawsuit on them. It wouldn't be hard to get it back." I crossed my legs.
Will sat back in his chair, going over the idea in his head. "Eli, I think you may be onto something. Why did I fire you?"
"You didn't. I quit to take on my own journey, remember?"
He folded his arms. "Ah, yes. How is that going by the way?"
"Dumb job, great girl. Father hates me. Mom has to be careful when calling me. Still got shit going through my head. Haven't broken my AA. I say I'm ok." I chuckled.
"Better than a couple of years ago. So, the job. It's different than what you had when you worked for me before."
"How different are we talking?"
"You'll have your own office. A big office at that. We will also be going up against your father and his company."
My eyes hardened. "My father. Will, you know he built his company from the ground up."
"Just like I did Eli but I am bigger and my net worth is bigger. My clients don't complain. Neither do the people I work with. Can you say the same as your father?" He look straight at me.
I sat there, thinking of what to do. I wasn't for sure. I know my father is an ass. I know he has been an ass to those he worked with and he acts arrogant. Do I turn my back on family or start my own family that I know will be there for me?
"Let me think about it Will. I'll let you know by the end of the day tomorrow." I stood up, as did Will. I shook his hand.
He smiled. "Take your time. Now, let's go eat and let me get a look at this new girl you have. I don't know who in the world who would want your dipshit self."
"Me either, honestly." We both laughed.

We made our way into the kitchen. Hayley was having fun. Gabe let her take over on the baking. Little did he know, he was gonna have to have a gallon of milk to wash it all down. Her baking was amazing but sweet. If you had a sweet tooth, go to Hayley.
Gabe latched onto Will and started talking his head off about how amazing Hayley was. I shook my head and went over to where Hayley was standing. I grazed her shoulder with mine, making her look up at me. She gave me that brilliant smile.
I chuckled. "You've got flour on your nose."
She giggled and started to wipe it off. I shook my head, taking my thumb wiping it off. Then I bent down and gave her a passionate kiss. I missed her when I wasn't around her.
"I missed you."
She grinned and pecked my lips again. I looked over to Gabe and Will. "When do we eat?"
Gabe didn't give Will time to speak. "As soon as Hayley gets done. The food is staying warm. Then we will eat these goodies she made."
I looked at Hayley who was in her zone, then back to them. "Sounds good to me."
