*~*~*~*~*~*~

Esmè smiled as Sam walked towards her. She was slowly moving on from him and knew she had to be amicable. Especially as he was her boss. Esmè knew that she couldn't go there with Sam. Even if she had ended up in his bed a few weeks ago. She needed to try and put him out of her mind and out of her bed. She didn't care if he was her boss.

Esmè turned away from him as he grabbed her arm. He sighed and looked at her. "What do you want?" Esmè asked.

Sam smirked. "I'm not going to seduce you. Although I could meet you in the on call room if you wanted," he teased.

"Sod off Sam," she mumbled as she went to walk off.

Sam sighed. "I'm sorry. It's Lexie. She's back and I need you to talk to her," he said as he unbuttoned his jacket.

Esmè rolled her eyes. "And why should I do that?"

"Because she is your best friend. You share a sister and Connie practically raised her," Sam said.

Esmè sighed and looked at him. "What's up with her?" She asked.

"I don't know. I just need you to talk to her," Sam said as she walked off.

Esmè stood by Resus as Cal stood flirting with her. She wasn't paying any attention to him at all. All she could think about was Sam. She knew she still wanted him even though he drove her mad

Esmè ran a hand through her hair and walked around the hospital. She walked into her best friend. Lexie.

Esmè looked at Lexie and smiled. "So. Do you wanna tell me what happened in America?" She asked as she hugged her.

"That is a long story."

Esmè grinned and nodded. "Well maybe we can catch up later?" She asked.

"Sure. I'd love that."

****

Sam walked over to Esmè. "Well?"

Esmè sighed. "She hasn't told me anything yet. I'm meeting her tonight. Now please leave me alone. I can't be dealing with you and your wicked ways."

Sam smirked. "My wicked ways?"

Esmè said nothing. She walked off. She knew she somehow needed to try and avoid Sam. But it wasn't easy. Nothing was easy when it came to him. Nothing was and it was destroying all.

****

Esmè and Lexie were sitting in the pub. Lexie was filling her in on what happened in America. Esmè was listening but she couldn't stop thinking about Sam. He broke her heart and yet he was all she could think about.

Lexie smiled. "Thanks for tonight Es. I needed it."

"No worries."

****

Esmè left the pub and sighed. She saw Sam leaning against his car. "You know you can get into trouble for lurking around in car parks. Especially when there's women around on their own."

Sam laughed. "Did she talk to you?"

"She did. But she asked me to not say anything. I have to respect that," Esmè said.

Sam watched as she walked off. He needed to win her back. But how could he?
