Esmè knew that she was trying out to keep away from Sam. She knew that they had sex. But she knew it was a mistake. And how it shouldn't have happened. She knew it had. And she couldn't change that.

Esmè waked into work with Lexie. She sighed as she saw Sam. The two of them held a look. Lexie frowned. "Please tell me that you didn't again?" Lexie asked.

Esmè looked to her and smiled. "No. Not since the last time. He thinks it is going to happen again. I can't. I mean so much has happened with me and him. He hurt me so much. He doesn't even realise. I messed up and slept with him once. It will stay that way. I can't put myself in that position and end up hurt again. Enough about him. How are things with Iain? I mean he has knocked you up. So you can't say it's nothing," Esmè said.

Lexie looked to her and smiled. "It's complicated. I have hormones flying all over the place. It's making me doubt things and if I want more. I mean he is my best friend after all," Lexie told her.

Esmè smiled. "No. I am your best friend. You have sex with him. It says it all," Esmè said as Lexie looked to her and sighed.

Esmè walked out of Resus. She groaned as she saw Sam. He stood there waiting for her. Esmè looked to him and rolled her eyes. "What are you doing? Stalking me now?" Esmè asked.

Sam looked to her and smirked. "Oh I would if you asked me too," he said.

Esmè rolled her eyes. She gave him a look. "Why can't you leave me alone Sam? What we had was in the past. We made one mistake. But look at it as a goodbye. We aren't going to happen. We can't happen. And do you want to know why? You hurt me. You used me and you broke my heart. For that I can't forgive you," Esmè told him.

Sam looked to her and sighed. "I know what I have done. I know I let you down. I'm sorry. But I never meant to. I never meant to hurt you. I swear. You mean the world to me and I never meant for this. Please believe me. I have changed. I can show you," he said as he placed a hand on her arm and looked to her.

Esmè shook her head. She sighed. "No. I don't trust you. Just leave me alone," Esmè mumbled as she walked off.

Sam looked to her and sighed. Determined to get her back.

Esmè stood outside of the ED. Connie walked over to where daughter was. She looked to her and smiled. "Are you okay love? I see sam is pestering you," Connie said.

Esmè sighed. "Yeah. But it's not nothing I can't handle," she told her as she took a sip of her drink.

Connie looked to her and smiled. "Just be careful. I know all you went through with Sam. The abortion. And how it almost broke you. The last thing I want is for you to end up hurt again," she said.

Esmè nodded. Esmè knew it wasn't easy to avoid Sam. But could she continue to resist him knowing their history?
