The bell rings once more. You would hate the eerie noise if it didn't bring you so much joy to hear. You walk over to your locker and punch in the code, but before you finish you feel a presence behind you.
"Trying to remember my code?" You smirk.
"Yeah, and I was almost successful, too." Stephen chuckled. You laugh with him.
"Shouldn't you be at your own locker?" You scoffed with a smile.
"I am, I guess we're neighbors." Stephen hummed.
"Ha, what is this, some kind of fantasy fairy tale?" You laugh. "First, I sit next to a guy that invites me to his lunch table, I make friends with them all, and we're coincidentally locker buddies. It's like we were destined to be friends!"
"See? Even god knew that someone desperate like you needed friends, so he only chose the best~" Stephen replies slyly.
"You're so narcissistic!"
"You're so judgemental."
You both have a good laugh before Stephen gestures with his thumb down the hallway.
"Gotta go, next class is strict." He giggled.
"Alright, make sure that teacher doesn't rip you apart before I do!" You laugh.
"Alright." He replies, turning to walk down the hallway.
"Oh, and Stephen?"
He pauses.
"Last digit is 5."
You hear him exhale in a laughing matter as he starts to head back down the hallway. You smile. He's so kind, even if he acts like an asshole in front of his friends.
You don't get to think about it much as you close your locker at the same time the bell rings.
Oh, great! I'm late..!
...Again.
