Jon's pov
The next morning, we were all allowed to go home. Luckily, Mikey was able to get Leo ready in time to get to school. "Grandpalirious, I look good?" he asked.
"Yes you do." He smiled. "Are you excited?"
"Yes!"
"Leo, come here. You need the last piece," Mikey said. He ran over to Mikey. She puts little fangs on his teeth. "There. All done. You are now Rin Okumara." He smiled as Carter struggled to get downstairs.
"Need help, Carter?" He shook his head and winced as he reached the bottom of the stairs. Mikey looked at the time.
"I need to get Leo to school." Leo gave Carter a hug and came over to me and hugged me.
"Have fun at school."
"I will."
"I love you," Carter said.
"I love you too."
"Have a good day." Leo runs out the door as Mikey follows him.
"I'll be back soon." We nodded and sat on the couch.

Leo's pov
"I'm so excited."
"I know you are."
"Do you thinks the other kids will like me?"
"Of course. You're too sweet." He smiled. We got to the school and Mom walked me to my class. There were a lot of kids in there and I stood behind Mom. My teacher walked up to us.
"Hello, Rin. It's nice to see you again." I smiled. "Can you go hang up your backpack and take your seat?" I nodded. Mom talked to my teacher for a minute before coming to say goodbye.
"Bye, Leo. I hope you have a good day. Be good." I hugged her.
"Bye, Mom." She ruffled my hair as she left. I fixed my hair, walked to my desk, and sat down. Our teacher called our names and we had to raise our hands. The door opened and a girl came in dress as Yukio Okumara. I stood up and slammed my hands on my desk and pointed at her. "You'res my new best friend!" She smiled from across the room and sat beside me. I blushed after I realized I yelled in front of everyone.
"Leo, I'm going to ask you not to yell, but I am glad you're making friends," Ms. Willow said.
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay." I looked at the girl who sat next to me. She had red hair and blue eyes and glasses. She looked over at me. I looked away.
"I'm Emily," she said quietly. I looked at her.
"I'm, Leo." She giggled.
"Wanna play together at recess?"
"Yeah." She smiled and her cheeks got red. I smiled, happy that I made a friend. Ms. Willow talked to us about the room and the bathroom rules before lunch. By the time she was done, we were heading to lunch.
"Wanna sit with me?" Emily asked.
"Yeah." She giggled and sat at the lunch table. "What do you have?"
"Peanut butter and jelly, chips, and a juice box. But my jelly is Crofters so it's awesome."
"I like crofters too! But my mom ate it all so she made the curry of life this morning for me."
"What's that?"
"The curry from Naruto that saved Rock Lee."
"Oh yeah!" I smiled. "I forgot about that," she said laughing. I giggled. We sat there and ate our lunch.
"So is Yukio your favorite character?"
She nodded while she ate her sandwich.
"Cool. What else do you like?"
"Blue Exorcist."
"Well I know that but what else?"
"Bleach, Ouran High School Host Club, Naruto."
"Me too!"
"Really!?"
"Yep."
"What do you wanna do at recess?"
"Hmm I don't know."
"I like your costume, by the way."
"I like yours too." Her cheeks got all red again.
"Thanks."
"No problems. Have you ever gone to a con? My mom takes me to them and we always dress up."
"No. My mom is sick so me and my dad stay home."
"Oh. Hmm well maybe the next time there's one and your parents are okay with it you can come with me and my mom."
"Really," she said excited.
"Yeah. I've never had friends before and you're my first friend. No, my first best friend." She smiled.
"Same. No one liked me in preschool."
"I don't see why. You're really nice." She shrugged. "Do you like Doctor who?"
"I've never seen it," she said quietly.
"Child. I need to educate you." She giggled. I smiled.
"How? I mean we're at school."
"You'll have to come over one day."
"Do you think your mom will like me?"
"Of course." She smiled. Once we finish eating, lunch was over. We went back to class and sat in our desks. Ms. Willow handed out a worksheet and said that we could work in partners.
"Will you be my partner, Leo?"
"Of course." She smiled and scooted closer to me. We wrote our names on our paper and started working on it.
When we were done, the teacher took our paper to check it. We talked quietly.
"Leo, Emily, I'm glad you are friends but I need you to pay attention," the teacher said. I huffed silently. She started talking about the journals we were gonna have to do. I was looking out the window while listening to her.
"Okay, class, time for recess," Ms. Willow said.
"Come on, Em." We all got in line to walk to recess. Once we got outside, me and Em went over to the monkey bars.
"These are really high up, Leo."
"It's only because we're short. Once we get taller they'll be a piece of cake."
She nodded but I could tell she was still a little bit scared. I grabbed her hand.
"Don't worry, Em. I won't let you get hurt." She nodded and started swinging across the monkey bars. "It's fun."
"Yeah it is." One of her hands slipped off the bar but she quickly grabbed back on to it.
"Be careful, Em."
"I am."
"Okay."
"Thanks, Leo," she said when she got to the other side. I climbed up and started to go across.
"Be careful."
"I will." She giggled. I got to the other side and got down. "Now what?" She shrugged.
"Tag." I tagged her and ran. She started chasing me. I laughed as I ran.
"Oww! Leo, help." I stopped.
"I'm not trying to be mean, but are you tricking me or are you really hurt?"
"I tripped on a stupid stick and I got a cut." I ran over to her.
"Let me see." She held out her hand and it had a tiny scratch.
"You'll just need a small bandaid."
"It stings."
"Let's go to the teacher." I grabbed her hand and helped her up, holding her hand until we got there.
"Yes, Leo?" Ms. Willow asked.
"Em fell and got a cut. She needs a bandaid." The teacher pulled a bandaid out of her pouch.
"Here you go," she said handing it to Em.
"Thanks."
"Let me help you, Em." She nodded and held out her hand. I put the bandaid on her cut and kissed it. "My mom says it makes it better when someone kisses it."
"Well she's right." I smiled. She hugged me. "Thanks." I hugged her back.
"You're welcome. Plus you're my friend now. I got to help you out." She smiled. "So what do you want to do now?"
"Swings?"
"Sure." We ran over to the swings and started to swing. Luckily, there were two open next to each other. We got to swing for a few minutes before the teacher called us inside. We went back inside and went to our seats. We were given a coloring worksheet to do. We were also allowed to talk to each other.
"So when do you think we can have a play date, Leo?"
"Maybe sometime this week?"
"Okay."
"I would say today but I got to help my mom since my dad got hurt."
"What happened?"
"He was in car crash."
"Oh my gosh. Is he okay?"
"Yeah just some bad bruises."
"I hope he gets better."
"Me too." Before we knew it, the school day was over and it was time to go home. Everyone's parents slowly showed up. I saw Mom walk through the door, and a few seconds later, Dad did too. Ms. Willow walked up to my mom and started talking to her.
"Hey, Leo, who's this?" Dad asked.
"This is my best friend Emily but I call her Em."
"Hi, Emily. I'm Carter, Leo's dad."
"Hello!" she said smiling. Dad smiled back. Mom walked over to us.
"So Leo who's this?"
"I'm Emily."
"Nice to meet you Emily. I'm Leo's mom. Also you're really adorable and I like your Yukio cosplay." Em blushed.
"Thank you." Mom smiled.
"So your teacher told me what you did this morning, Leonardo."
"Not cool, Mom."
"Child, I'll use your full name when I feel like so deal with it." I huffed.
"I think it's cute," Emily said. I blushed. Carter whispered something in Mom's ear. She laughed a bit. Emily looked at me confused.
"What's funny?"
"Nothing, Leo." I shrugged.
"Emily?" a lady asked. I looked at Em.
"Mommy!" she yelled. She hugged her mom. I got shy and hid behind Dad. "Leo, come here," Em said. I slowly walked over to Em and half way stood behind her. She giggled. "Mama, this is bestest friend Leo. Leo, this is my mom."
"H-hello." I didn't realize that I grabbed Em's hand.
"Hi, Leo. I'm Miranda. Are these your parents?" I nodded and moved behind Em more. She turned around and looked at me.
"You don't have to be scared."
"He's not scared, just very shy," Mom said.
"Oh," Em said and hugged me. I hugged her back.
"Leo, you and Emily wanna go play for a moment so us adults can talk?" Dad asked.
"I have a question real quick."
"Yes?"
"The next con we go to can Em come with us?"
"Well, we'll have to talk to her parents."
"Ok. Come on, Em. Let's go play."
