Paris’ POV
When two predators meet, there's no one who doesn’t feel fear. Everyone is afraid. However, it is the one who shows fear first that will lose their life first. Therefore, if someone is coming after you, before your weaknesses are revealed, attack them first. That is how you survive in the animal kingdom.
“Okay girls, kagaya ng palagi kong sinasabi sa inyo, safety first. We will win today, alright? Brixton University is not an easy opponent but you’re much better than them. We already studied their moves so I’m confident that we’ll win this game. Basta pagkatapos nito ay walang mai-injured sa inyo. Alright?!” -Coach.
“Yes, coach!” we answered in unison.
“Paris, you know what to do.” Coach said while looking at me in the eyes saying na ako na ang bahala sa mangyayari sa loob ng field mamaya.
“Yes coach!” I answered.
We’re currently discussing here on the bench beside the field dahil malapit ng magsimula ang laro laban sa Brixton. They are on the opposite side and they are looking at us like some predators waiting to devour their prey.
We could hear the students cheering for their respective teams kahit hindi pa naman nagsisimula ang laro.
From here, I can see the team that we beat yesterday. The Stanford University Football team. They’re watching us on the opposite side of the bleachers. My eyes caught Thalia looking at me with an amused smile plastered on her face. It’s kinda awkward so I looked away and turn my sight on the crowd.
And there, I saw the one who made me feel like this. Those unknown feelings that somehow turned into affection. Okay, that’s a lie. I had known from the start that it wasn’t just a “crush”. She had always been intriguing and fascinating, mesmerizing and exciting, captivating and enthralling, hypnotic and enchanting. Almost spellbinding.
Affection was an understatement. I really am in love with her the first time I laid my eyes on her. She’s looking at me like I’m the most precious thing on her sight and I can’t help but to blush.
For a moment, we just…looked. And then a smile tugged on the corner of her lip and she whispered “I love you” which made my heart beat like I’ve ran a mile. Fvck. I’m whipped.
The whistle from the referee cut my thoughts indicating that the game would start.

The game ended with the score of 4-1. Our school won and the crowd goes wild. I’m really happy that we won and thankful dahil walang na injured sa amin. It’s a good game, nevertheless.
“Good job, girls! Ituloy-tuloy niyo lang ang panalo!” salubong sa amin ni coach pagbalik namin sa bench.
“Good job, Capt.” Coach said while tapping my left shoulder.
“Thanks coach, ang galing ng team mates ko eh.” I said then winked at them.
“Sus. Pa humble ka masyado, best! Ang sabihin mo, halimaw ka lang talaga pagdating sa loob ng field. Akalain mo, sayo lahat ng apat. Pinahirapan mo masyado ang goal keeper ng kabila eh” My team mates laughed including our coach to what Audrey said. Aba! Pinagkakaisahan nila ako ah.
“Tumahimik ka nga best, we have to give credits sa kabilang team for giving us a good game” sabi ko nalang. Sira ulo kasi talaga tong bestfriend ko eh. Kung ano ano ang sinasabi.
