The Pirate and the Princess

OUAT Ch15

(Killian)

Someone starts shaking me awake. Awake? That means I must have fallen asleep. I open my eyes, slowly they adjust to the bright light. Henry stands over me with excitement in his eyes and worry in his face.

"Killian, wake up! She just got out of hip surgery!" He shouts, still shaking my arms.

I stand up, quickly regretting it as my vision goes black for a moment. I shake my head and gain my balance. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I know notice Dr. Whale speaking with Snow and Charming in the hall. I run around the corner and burst through the glass doors.

"Is she okay?" I ask, gasping for breath.

"Calm down Hook, she's fine. We actually finished surgery about an hour ago and she's been asleep.
However, now she is awake and ready for visitors." He looks at me, "Direct family unless she requests you."

I sigh and go to sit back down as Mary Margret and David follow Dr. Whale.

(Snow pov)

Whale explains what we should expect from Emma as we walk down the hall. "I must warn you get memory is not that great at the time from the brain injury. The last thing she remembers is something about trading her car for 'his' ship? Does that sound familiar?" He asks curiously.

At first I have no clue what he is talking about, but then I remember Emma telling us she came here on Hook's ship. And I have not seen her car. She must have traded it for his ship. She really does love that pirate.

"She must mean Killian's." I answer. David looks suddenly annoyed, but when he realizes the grim look on his face he shakes his head and grins. Maybe he's finally accepting the pirate.

"Oh okay. That makes sense. We couldn't figure it out because when we asked who's ship all she said was 'his'. Now, she does remember everything before she left except for memories affiliated with certain people. We believe the reason for this is that if she was thinking or stressing over these people during her little trip, and since she lost those memories, she has also lost major memories of them. These missing memories are delicate; she remembers faces and flashbacks but no details or names. I believe they will come back with time." Dr.Whale says with confidence as we reach Emma's door.

"Do you know who she has forgotten?" I ask nervously.

"Not exactly. After your visit we will be testing her memory to prepare for the brain surgery." He smiles apologetically and then leaves us to see our daughter.

We peek through the window at her. She stares blankly at the wall. It seems she is trying to solve a riddle in her mind. I look up at David worryingly. He smiles grimly and we make our way in.

"Hi Emma, how are you feeling?" I ask carefully.

She turns towards me and confusion strikes on her face. "Mom? Dad? I'm in Storybrooke?"

I try my best to keep my face calm. Dr. Whale said that if overwhelm her it may take longer for her recovery. "Yes, you've been back for a couple of days."

She shakes her head and looks at me blankly, "Sorry.. I- I can't seem to remember.."

"Oh Emma! Don't apologize, see you were in an accident. It's the day after Thanksgiving and your in the hospital in Storybrooke. Now their are some people in the waiting room that want to see you but they need your permission." I continue to list of the people ending with Killian.

"Killian. Who- whose that?" She asks. Her face looks like she is sensing déjà vu.

I look at David with extreme shock. This is not going to be good. Killian will go mad. He just found out he has true love and now she can not remember him. His heart will be crushed.

"Well.. see he- he's your true love." I say sadly.

"Oh, can you tell me about him?" She says curiously.

Maybe this will help her remember. David steps towards her and starts to tell the story, "He used to be the cruelest pirate in all of the enchanted forest. Known for his dark heart and lust. However, there was one thing he wanted. Revenge. On the man that murdered his wife. While on this journey he met an evil sorceress. They began to work together to make it from the enchanted forest to storybrooke."

"But the pirate thought he had found a simpler way when he met four girls also looking for a way to Storybrooke. He climbed a beanstalk with the gorgeous blonde princess . After getting what they needed she locked him up on top of the beanstalk and raced down because she had yet to trust him." A small smile comes to Emma's face as David continues.

"Both the princess and the pirate found ways to Storybrooke. He realized he had feeling for her that went deeper then expected, but she put walls up to keep people out."

"A time came when the princess had to leave town to save everyone. She would lose all her memory and the town would be transported back to the enchanted forest. He was heart broken but they went on with the plan. As soon as he was back in the forest he returned to his ways. Stealing and drinking in his pirate ship."

"But one day, a new curse was coming. He traded his ship, his home, for a magic bean and went back to find his princess. He saved her from her lost memories an they returned to Storybrooke where she fell through a portal to the past. He obviously followed her. The two of them did eventually make it back to the future and saved the day."

"But there happily ever after was short lived. When they returned they found a new villain. The snow queen. The princess couldn't take it. She was falling in love with the pirate, but everyone else she has ever been with is dead. And she couldn't watch him die too. She left the town and no one saw her for six months."

"Until one day. She came sailing in on his ship. See she had traded her car for it. Her romance with the pirate was, much to her father's displeasure, rekindled. But there's even more..."

"The princess heart was frozen by the snow queen. After finally teaching her, the pirate planted a load on her lips and she was saved by true love. But the snow queen wasn't going to let it go. She iced over the road, on Emma's way home one day she slipped and fell down the bluff on the side of the road."

I can see wet tears in David's eyes as he finishes the story. "His princess had a broken hip, shattered knee .. And could no longer remember her true love."

Emma looks ready eyes too. "That all really happened? And I-I'm the princess?"

David nods sadly. Emma closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and says, "I want to see him. The pirate."
