(Hook pov)

"Lad, where are you?" I say as I come in through the door. I just got back to my cabin from my new job at the docks. Henry must be home from school by now, but where is he?

"Henry, I'm back." I shout through the house.

"Sorry Hook, busy saving the world!"

Ah, he must mean he is playing that weird game with the moving pictures. He's been trying to teach me ever since Emma left.

Swan. Her name is enough for me to lose my train of thought. It's been 6 months, half a year, since she left on some trip she said she had to do. Before she left she was avoiding me.

"Snow monster is gone now lass." I said to Emma as she threw the slushy snow against the tree.

"Someone made that monster, this isn't over yet." She said with annoyance.

"I know love but this is a quiet moment," I step towards her, "let's take the time to enjoy it." I say hopefully. She gets lost in my eyes for a minute, gazing into them. Then she is snapped back into reality.

"There's something I have to do." She says stepping away.

"Alright." I start to turn away. "Just don't try and tell me your not avoiding me now because I know your are." I try not to show the hurt on my face. I'm a pirate; I shouldn't have fallen so hard for this woman.

"Hook wait. I just feel so guilty..." She trails off.

"Because of Regina?" I ask. This is not just because of that.

She nods, "She just lost someone she really cares about because of me." She slightly hesitated.

I slowly shake my head in disbelief. "No there's more than that to this. You just don't want to tell me."

She meets my eyes and steps forward, touching her lips gently to mine. She's not going to tell me is she?

"Be patient." She says lightly then walks away.

That dastardly Swan thinks she can just up and walk away and we'll all forget about her eventually. Well she's wrong about that. None of us have any idea where she went. All she took was her car, clothes, and cash.

The boy was okay when she first left. He thought she would be back in less then a week, but after six months he can't talk about her or anything that has to do with her.

We usually avoid the subject all together. For both our sakes.

I walk upstairs and find Henry sitting on his bed staring at that 'T V' while he presses buttons on a small object. He calls it a video game.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go to Granny's tonight?" I say leaning against the door frame.

"Yeah sounds great" His eyes don't leave the tv. Ah yes the great joy of raising a teen.

"Henry! You in there lad?" I wave my hook in his face. He drops the remote and faces me.

"Sorry Hook. Granny actually sounds like fun. I'll get ready now." He says with more enthusiasm.

"Alright, before we eat I need to go back to the docks to grab my wallet."

"Okay that's fine, we can walk down there. I haven't seen the boats in a while." He says as he walks towards his closet to change.

"Meet me downstairs in five minutes."

I walk down the stairs and go to my closet and grab my leather jacket. After Emma and I had our chat about her avoiding me, I never spoke with her again. The next morning Henry showed up at my door and told me she had to do something and would be back soon, and that she wanted me to watch him. Nothing much has happened since she has been gone.

The person that created the snow monster never came out of hiding. They are still here because every now and then we find a random patch of ice.

Henry has grown up a lot. He's thirteen now. The good news is Emma hasn't missed his birthday or a major holiday yet. I don't know how he would handle that. Thanksgiving is in a week and I can tell he is edgier then ever.

I did change my wardrobe but it's nothing jurassic. Leather pants and a normal sized leather jacket.

Also I was attempting to buy a ship, but there is no vessel greater then the Jolly Roger. I would never take back the trade that I made for it. I just wish I could find a new one.

"Ready Hook?" Says Henry as he comes down the steps.

"Aye, let's go."

We walk to the docks so I can grab my wallet from the small ship I left it in. After getting the wallet I notice a large dot on the horizon.

It's constantly growing larger as it sails towards us. First I notice the perfect white sails and the speed of the vessel. Then the size of it. The thing that gives it away however is the blonde woman standing near the from waving her arms and smiling.

The Jolly Roger

"Mom?" Shouts Henry.

"It is you, swan! Come on lad!" I dive into the water and hear a splash behind me. We start swimming toward the Jolly Roger and meet it a little ways from the deck. Emma tries to lower a rope for us to climb on but she struggles with it.

"Come on lass just jump in. Waters great." I say with a smirk. She dives from the railing and hits the crystal waters sending a spray my way. Henry swims towards her and as soon as she pops up he hugs her and doesn't let go.

"I missed you kid."

"Me too mom."

Finally she lets go and laughs as she messes up his wet hair. I am however just trying to float in this heavy leather.

"One question Hook. How do we get back on the boat?" She asks me with a playful look that says your an idiot.

I laugh loudly and say, "Have you no trust in your captain? I've got this all under control."

I swim over to the front of the ship and grab hold to the small pegs I placed here so many years ago. Quickly I mount up the front and swing over the rail onto the deck. I let out a breath I have been holding for six months. Feels good to be back onboard.

I drop a rope quickly and pull them both up.

"Maybe I should have trusted you Hook." She says meaning more then one thing.

"Aye, maybe so."
