Chapter one:Gabby?

Matt POV

My alarm woke me up as I was on shift today, I woke up laying on gabbys side of the bed, I usually fall asleep here but end up at my own side the next morning.Today felt different and like something good was going to happen, but I was probably just thinking out of the ordinary.
I got up and went to get my uniform on, I was more tired than usual this morning and went into gabbys old drawers instead of mine, all the clothes she didn't talked to Porto Rico were still there and right in the centre on top of all her old clothes was a ring box with the ring I was going to give her inside. I was planning on proposing just before she got the call about leaving so I never got the chance for she was away before I could blink twice. I've never even thought about seeing other people as she was the love of my life. My second alarm startled me from my daydream and so I turned it off and got changed.

I arrived at the firehouse early today so there was nobody on my shift there,I went to leave my bag into my locker,still avoiding gabbys as I can't bare walking past it.Chief decided that because gabby was so special to everyone at firehouse 51,he would leave her locker as it is,so her name tag and all her belongings are still inside.im the only one that knows her locker pin so I decided that since nobody is here I will open it and go through some of her stuff to pass time, just as I unlocked it Stella walked in and made me jump,I quickly shut Dawson's locker and got back to my own before Kidd could suspect anything.

Stella POV

Hey captain, I thought i saw ur car parked out front, whatcha doing in at this time? I asked.
Hey Kidd! Yeah I was ready early this morning and had nothing better to do so decided to head over early. Casey replied.
Ok? Well I'm gonna hop into the shower!

Matt POV

When everyone arrived and shift had started we headed into the briefing room so chief could give orders that needed to be done around the house. Me, Kidd, Ritter and Mills all went to check on inventory and as soon as I walked out I saw a short, brown haired women standing by Otis' memorial. Gabby?i thought to myself, I took a moment to stand still and look in this mysterious woman's direction,then I remembered chiefs quote 'when you see someone—a fellow firefighter, a citizen, a visitor, a friend standing out here, looking at this memorial...I want you to walk down this apron and tell them about Brian. So I decided to walk down and was planning on talking to this woman as I was certain that It couldn't be Dawson! As I got closer to this human being she started to become more recognisable and looked familiar, millions of thoughts going through my head at that moment. Could it really be?No of course not! But maybe?
Before I could even think of what was coming out of my mouth I questionably said 'Gabby?'
