A Dawsey One Night stand

Chapter 2: I cant belive it!

Gabby POV:
I turned around when I heard my name being called and there he was, the one man that I loved and cared about the most. Yes I know we got a divorce but only because I got sent to PR! All this stuff was going through my mind whilst I was just staring at Matt! I don't even know how long I have been standing here, I had no idea what to say and so his name just came out of my mouth! He walked closer to me and in the distance I saw everyone else standing on the apparatus floor staring at me with a shocked face. So many things were going through my head at that moment like 'is Otis really dead?' 'Who are these new firefighters?' 'Will Matt come to the dance with me?' As Matt walked closer to me he started talking about Otis' memorial and when he died, he then asked about why I came back to Chicago and i honestly didn't know what to say! I made up an excuse that I was ordered to come here when in reality i had to fight to be sent here! I told him this when we were walking back to the apparatus floor and all of a sudden the claxton went off. I was so excited to see everyone back in action and Stella offered for me to come along so I quickly ran and got my bunker gear and hopped into the truck. I got asked so many questions on the way to the fire.

Matt POV:
I cant believe she's back! I'm so happy she got ordered to come back to Chicago and she came back to see me! My feelings for gabby haven't changed in the slightest and I hope she feels the same way. We arrived at the fire and it was a big one, I ordered everyone to a certain area and Dawson went with Kidd because if she came with me I would get distracted from the fire.

Gabby POV:
We were on our way home from the fire and I still have to ask Matt if he will come to the dance with me. I'm scared to ask as I don't know if he will say yes. We hopped out of the truck and headed to the common room so I could see everyone. As I walked in everyone cheered and was so shocked to see me. I got so many hugs and high fives and once that was all over I signalled Matt to come to his office with me, as I shut his door he sits down in his chair but I stay standing, here goes nothing.
(for the conversation G will be gabby and M will be Matt)
G:So I was wondering,what would you think about coming to a dance with me tomorrow night? I'm in town for the next 4 days and the dance is for a fundraiser for my organisation.
M:Absolutely! Where is it?
G:Town church,here's the sheet with all the information. I'll meet you there!
As I left the room I saw from the corner of my eye a big smile on Matts face,I'm so happy he said yes! I decided to hang around the firehouse as it's more entertaining than my hotel room.

Matt POV:
I'm so happy I can spent time with gabby tomorrow night but I need to tell Brett.I saw her pass my room and caught her just before she left the bunker room.(as the same B will be for Brett and M for Matt in the conversation)
M:hey Brett come in I need to tell you something!
B: yeah, sure, what is it?
M:so...Gabby asked me to her fundraiser dance, ball thingy.....And I said yes.
B:okay?Are you regretting saying yes?
M:no no no! I just wanted to let you know about it, I felt I needed to tell you.
B:okay, Well have fun!
M:yeah I will, thanks.
