The sun had gone down, and a sun set was the only light beaming on the two.
Jonah had been good at keeping a conversation going, always trying to dig deeper.
Jack had barley stuttered anything in their whole conversation. He's proud of himself. He's happy, Jonah was here.
They were walking down the street, on the sidewalk, as cars drove by with better things to do.
"No way in hell, Jonah." Jack giggled shaking his head.
"Yes it's true! Let me tell you, this dog was about your size. It tackled me and that was the only time I'd lost a fight." Jonah laughed with a nod making Jack let out a hearty laugh.
"I don't know if thats a compliment on my part," Jack scoffed with a raised brow.
"Hm, the dog was big, but your pretty tiny." Jonah shrugged.
"I'm not that small, jerk." Jack giggled out shaking his head.
"Hm. 5'3 I'm guessing?" Jonah raised a brow.
"Nope, 5'4." Jack smiled proudly. Jonah scoffed dramatically making Jack roll his eyes.
"Okay, how tall you are then, giraffe?" Jack smirked making Jonah think.
"Last time I got a check-up I was about 6 foot. Probably around there still." Jonah shrugged casually.
"Ugh, you make me feel short." Jack groaned making Jonah chuckle shaking his head, "Maybe because you are, short-stack. How's the weather down there?"
"Shut up," Jack giggled "It's not a bad thing actually- it's cute." Jonah complimented.
"Um. T-thank you." Jack blushed "There's that beloved stutter. Do I make you nervous or something?" Jonah questioned with a smile.
"Not really, compliments in general make me like that. A lot of things make me blush and mumble, ya know?" Jack lied with a shrug.
"Your just an easy person to fluster." Jonah added as they crossed the street.
"Mhm, exactly. Here's the place." Jack smiled pointing to the shop.
They walked into the store and Jack guided him to the medical isle. Bandages? For sure. Gauze? Needed. Peroxide? Yeah for sure.
Jack only really needed those things, and he could barley afford these things alone.
Fuck, he thought looking at the prices, How are bandages like 15 dollars!?
He felt embarrassed. They walked up to the register, and a middle aged women looked at them as she cleared the counter.
"Hey, I can pay for these! You're already gonna patch me up, so I can atleast pay." Jonah smiled.
"Oh um, are you sure? I don't mind." Jack blushed. He did mind- very much. But he couldn't let Jonah know that.
"I'd never let you pay." Jonah shrugged. The lady scanned the items.
"$31.27. Cash or credit?" She questioned.
"Cash," Jonah answered pulling out a perfectly crisp 100 dollar bill. Jack was surprised at how casually Jonah handed her the money.
"Want a candy or something? Soda maybe?" Jonah asked sweetly "Um- oh, I'm okay thank you." Jack smiled weakly with a blush.
"C'mon get something." Jonah urged playfully "Uh, okay." Jack blushed picking up gummy bears and sliding them on the counter.
"That's it? Damn, I love shopping." Jonah chuckled putting chips, candy, and a soda on the counter.
She took back a few dollars as he was given back his change. They took their purchases and left. Jack felt awkward letting another guy pay for his snack.
