Chapter 5 : New bond

"Did you try throwing a bucket of water in their face?" Hongjoong asked.

"Yes, twice" San answered.

"It's all my fault" Yunho said as guilt built up in his voice.

"Stop blaming yourself. Like I told you, you couldn't know it would happen" the captain reassured.

"Their eyes opened again" San announced.

"And?" Hongjoong ran to his side.

"I think they're gonna wake up"

They waited a few seconds until you opened your eyes completely. You glanced around the room before you noticed San. You immediately got up to hug him which startled him and the rest of the crew. Mingi, who was in the corner of the room, eyed the scene really carefully. You seemed to have grown close to the male. Not that he was jealous, he just didn't like you being close to his friends.

"Woah, matey. Take it easy. You just woke up after two days into coma" San chuckled leading you back to the bed.

"I remember you!" you exclaimed.

"That I can see" he chuckled once again.

"No, it's not what I mean. You're Choi San. My brother"

The room instantly fell silent.

"I'm sorry, what?" he asked, still confused.

"The both of you, in my cabin. Now" Hongjoong ordered and left the room.

You both followed him and as soon as he closed the door, he stared at you.

"May you give us some explanations?" he asked.

You proceeded to tell them about your sort of vision you had while you were unconscious. As you went forward with your story, San started to remember little by little. He finally recognized he was, indeed, your brother. Emotions built up and he hugged you for a while. Hongjoong said nothing, letting you enjoy the reunion.

"Well, welcome officially in the crew, Choi Y/N" he smiled. "Now that it is all cleared up, I still would like you to get to know the others. In that case, you'll still be rooming with Mingi and tomorrow, Yeosang will be in charge of you. I believe you have to get used to each other. After, it'll be Jongho. You should learn how to fight just in case"

You nodded as he informed you of your schedule for the next few days.

"For today, rest well and enjoy your time with your long lost sibling" he shooed you out of the room. 

As soon as you walked out, the whole team was waiting for you. San then explained what happened and they pretty much all were happy to learn you were his sibling, especially Mingi.

"Well, another reason for us to consider you as one of us" Wooyoung said while glaring at Yeosang who just shrugged.

You talked and hang out with San for the rest of the day. You learned some things from your past as he told you many anecdotes you had as children. You asked questions about your parents. San seemed hesitant at first to answer but you deserved to know so he answered anyway.

~ The Next Day ~

You went to the main deck only to meet an annoyed looking Yeosang. Of course he wasn't happy with the news he had to spend the whole day with you. Still, as a loyal member, he followed Hongjoong's instructions.

"You're late" he said.

"They're on time, Yeosang. Be gentle" Mingi said while he was passing by.

"Fine" Yeosang rolled his eyes. "Basically, all you have to do today is follow my instructions. As the boatswain, I'm in charge of making sure everyone works and that every task is complete. So, first step, checking if everyone are at their post. Go chek on Seonghwa and Yunho and then, meet me here"

You nodded and went to the galley. As you opened the door, you found nobody in the room. You walked in and called Seonghwa. How strange, he is usually the first one up. You went back to the door and as you were about to leave, Seonghwa was standing in front of you making you scream.

"Hey, Y/N!" he smiled before walking past you to go to the counter. "If you were wondering where I was, Hongjoong called for me. Just tell Yeosang I was working" he winked and you left.

You went to the mainmast and looked up, the sun blinding you. You called for Yunho, really loudly so he could hear you.

"Good morning" you heard from behind.

You jumped and turned around to see Yunho.

"I bet Yeosang is trying to get rid of you or is just messing with you cause he knows I'm at my post only if I really need to" he informed and you sighed. "Don't worry, he'll warm up to you. It'll take some time, but one day. Oh, and I didn't get to apologize. I'm sorry for the other day. I should have looked after you"

"It's totally okay, Yunho. It wasn't your fault that I was scared" you smiled. "I should go now before Yeosang kills me" you said while glancing at the main deck.

You noticed Yeosang waiting for you, still with the annoyed face. A long day was waiting for you...

~ Time Skip ~

"I'm hungry" you whined.

It was almost evening and you haven't eaten all day.

"Then starve" Yeosang replied harshly as he was helping a sailor.

"Yeosang, what did I tell you?" Mingi said as he appeared next to you and Yeosang rolled his eyes.

"I am doing my best"

"It doesn't look like it"

"I thought you hated them too"

"I didn't say that. Even if I was, I'm still respectful. And might I remind you that they're my roommate"

"Fine, I get it... Y/N, I'm sorry for being mean to you. From now on, I'll be more respectful towards you" he apologized.

"It's fine" you replied.

"I'll take your place as their supervisor of the day" Mingi told Yeosang before nodding at you telling you to follow him.

"Where are we going?" you asked.

"Didn't you say you were hungry? We're going to the galley" he said and you already arrived.

Seonghwa had prepared food for everyone and the others, except Yeosang, were eating.

"How was your day?" Hongjoong asked as you and Mingi sat next to each other.

"Okay, I guess"

"Was Yeosang too much?"

"A bit, but Mingi put him back  to his place" you said while looking at the man.

"Is that so?" Hongjoong lifted an eyebrow as he took a sip of his drink and Mingi coughed.

"Yeah"

After eating, Mingi lead you to the fore-deck. He told you he had some things to talk about with you. As you arrived, you both obseverved the horizon. It was silent for a moment. Not an awkward one, rather a comfortable silence. Mingi soon broke it.

"What Yeosang said earlier, about hating you. He wasn't wrong"

"You hate me too?" you whispered, a bit offended.

"Not hate, more like dislike. We didn't welcome new members for a while and then you appeared. I was just sad that the team added someone new"

"Okay, and now?" you asked and he shrugged.

"I got used to you I guess. I mean, I'm stuck in the same room as you"

"Oh, yeah"

"And be happy I didn't kicked your butt already, you snore"

"Yah!" you whined and he laughed.
