Chapter 10 : Traitors?

"We-" you started.

"I tried to escape" Keonhee said while looking down with guilt.

"Is that so? Good job, then, you two. Now, can you go back to the nursery room? I have some questions for our friend here"

"Yes, Captain" you both bowed and glanced at Keonhee before leaving.

As soon as we entered the room, we realized Mingi was sitting on his bed, arms crossed.

"You left without me?"

"Were you really expecting us to bring you with us? You have to recover" San answered.

"Still, I would have liked it if you at least told me you went"

"You were unconscious" you said.

"Whatever... What did you get?" he asked and you sat down before telling him all about Keonhee's story.

As soon as you finished, San and Mingi gave each other a look. You stared at them in confusion.

"Y/N-" Mingi started but you heard Yeosang calling for the whole crew to be on the main deck.

You and San helped Mingi to get up and you went outside. On the foredeck stood Hongjoong with Keonhee and Yeosang.

"Comrades, I learned someone here lied to me. From what this fella is telling, the book is still in our possession" Hongjoong announced.

"Shit" Mingi whispered.

"And from what we know, the person who supposedly gave it to them is our dear Quartermaster" he said and looked at Mingi as everyone gasped.

"Follow me" San whispered to my ear.

"But Min-" you started.

"He'll be fine, just follow me"

You glanced at Mingi before following your brother into the nursery room. As you both entered, he started to open cupboards and take out stuff.

"We knew it would happen one way or another, so we're gonna escape" he said, still packing some medication.

"What?"

"Hongjoong is delusional about this whole thing and he's not able to see what the true meaning of it is. We do, so we must go on this journey alone, the three of us"

"Are you crazy?"

"We already warned Wooyoung we might steal his boat and he agreed on covering us"

He took you by the arm and you both went to your cabin so you could pack some things. Not like you had much to pack.

"You better clarify all of this once we escaped" you glared.

"We will, don't worry" he conclued by taking out a suitcase from under Mingi's bed.

You ran back to the main deck and Mingi was facing Hongjoong. It seemed like nothing much has happened since you left. San hid you, again, behind barrels, so you could listen and left to prepare the boat.

"You betrayed us, once again. You have no idea how disappointed I am" Hongjoong said with anger in his voice, yet, with a hint of sadness.

"I'm sorry, Captain"

"You better be"

"But I'll have to disobey you" he said and pulled out a dagger to cut the ropes that were maintening Keonhee prisoner.

You took it as a signal to lead him to the boat as everyone tried to stop him. You noticed Wooyoung giving you a nod before he helped you to get Keonhee out of the situation. Mingi, on the other, was struggling. Both physically and mentally. Not only he was exhausted from his injuries, but he was fighting against his almost brother.

"What has gotten to you?" Hongjoong said before attempting to strike.

"YOU are asking me that? It's your fault that I can't stand you anymore. All you have in head is this stupid prophecy and Hyojin" Mingi yelled back.

"Don't mention her name. You know that" he attacked again.

"What? Because she left you to become the Queen?"

"Enough!" Hongjoong yelled as he made a visible cut onto Mingi's face.

"Mingi" he heard San's voice.

"I'm sorry" he said before leaving Hongjoong there, speechless, to join you.

"Be safe" Wooyoung hugs you.

"Thank you"

"Don't worry, I got you" he winked and ruffled you hair as Mingi joined you.

"Your face" you gasped and reached to touch.

"I'm okay..' he said coldly before taking place in the boat.

"You sure?"

"I said I'm fine!" he yelled making you jump and then looked down. "Thanks, Wooyoung for the help" he said with a calmer tone.

"No problem, matey. Good luck"

Keonhee and San started to paddle as Mingi laid down on his back while grunting. You knew he was vulnerable, but you still wanted to help him. You subtly asked San about where he put his medical kit and then proceed to sit next to Mingi who had his eyes closed. You took out a cloth and poured a little amount of rubbing alcohol before dabbing it onto his cut on his face. He hissed at the touch and glared at you.

"Shut up and let me take care of this" you glared back.

Surprisingly, he shut his mouth.

As you were working, you listened to San and Keonhee discussing. Keonhee was apologizing for causing trouble but San told him it was alright and stuff.

"You know what?" Mingi said.

"What?" you asked.

"I'm already done with this shit"
