Chapter 11 : Alone in the sea

"What do you mean?" you asked.

"I'm saying that this whole thing is fucked up as heck"

"Well, you kinda put yourself in it so-"

"Hongjoong did" he exclaimed sitting up but he grunted because of the pain.

"Y/N" San called.

You took a last look at Mingi and went to sit with Keonhee and your brother. San sighed before saying he'll explain what he and Mingi discovered.

"Don't tell anyone, especially not the Greens, except Keonhee. Hongjoong has a daughter"

"What?" you said surprised.

"Before he met the 8 of us, he was dating a Green. The daughter of a Duke to be more precised. Her name is Hyojin. Back then, Hongjoong had paused his activities as a pirate in order to be with her. She then became pregnant and gave birth to their daughter, Seohyung. They were happy. It was until she left him to marry the prince, soon to be king. He still doesn't know what has gotten to her, but she was craving for the power the royal family has. It left him heartbroken. He came back as a pirate with his daughter. He kept her a secret to protect her. When he discovered the prophecy, he was convinced that the child was Seohyung. But Mingi and I came with a different conclusion. The child is you. We, eight men, came across you when you were left on the island."

"Hold on here, you're telling me I'm some kind who hero who will save the world?" you stopped him, in disbelief.

"Mmmh, yeah, pretty much"

"I think you've got that wrong... I mean, ME??? No, I can barely fight against a Green. And about Hongjoong, now I understand better his situation, but does it mean he's against the Greens just because of his ex-girlfriend?"

"Technically, they were engaged, but yeah, that's why" he said and there was a silence. "I get you are taken aback by the news, but we truly need you. Mingi will train you! And, I can help you with understanding why you are the chosen one"

"Bruh, I'm not Harry Potter"

"Who's Harry Potter?"

"Nevermind..."

"Anyway, so, are you still in?" he asked and you sighed.

"Well, I'm kind of stucked here on this boat so, sure"

San squealed before letting go of the paddle to hug you. You chuckled and as you pull away, your eyes met Keonhee's who seemed pretty mad.

"What is it?" you asked.

"Thanks to San, we lost two paddles so I'm guessing I'm the only one paddling now?" he glared at San.

"Oh shit... we'll take turns, don't worry, one paddles during the day and the other at night, sounds good?" San replied and Keonhee shrugged.

~ 3 days ~

"You missed it!"

"Let me just remind you that I'm not the only one who was fishing!"

"But YOU were the one who was closest to it, therefore, should have caught it!"

"Please! I'm still a rookie at being a pirate, so, I'm sorry, I made a mistake!"

"Are they always arguing like this?" Keonhee asked.

"Kind of, but it's not that bad usually. I think being in the same tiny boat made them get on their nerves"

You were still arguing with Mingi, until San came to interrupt and calm down the tension. He nagged the two of you, especially Mingi since he is supposedly the Quartermaster, so the most responsible. For the rest of the day, you both did your own things, but to be honest, it was getting more boring.

"What about we sing?" you suggested.

"No" you received a very quick answer from Mingi.

"Why not?"

"Cause it's annoying"

"Pleaseee~" you begged.

"No"

A few hours past and it was already night. You couldn't sleep, so you went on the deck. You were surprised to meet Mingi there. He seemed to be in deep thoughts so you kept quiet to not bother him.

"Not even a 'hello', huh? I guess I really get on your nerves"

"I just thought you would prefer the silence over my annoying voice"

"Stop it, you're not that annoying"

"You aren't either. I thinkk being with each other 24/7 got the best of us and we just lost it I guess"

"You're right, I'm sorry by the way"

"It's fine, I was a bit too much as well, I apologize"

Then, a comfortable silence wrapped up the conversation. You were look at the horizon and Mingi at the stars. The night was peaceful.

"Will you be my friend?" you suddenly asked which confused Mingi.

"Cheesy, am I not already?"

"I'll take that as a yes" you smiled and looked back at the view.

What went unnoticed for you was Mingi's huge grin as he looked at you.

A/n: I know the situation we are currently living is really hard and the capter was based on how I live my quarantine with my family, but you have to remember that you aren't alone. Go take a walk, play with your pets and siblings, call your friends, enjoy your free time to develop your hobbies. It is not easy, there is not doubt, but we'll get through it. #StayHome
