Six hours later...

I felt a pull on my body as I felt the large ship move through lightspeed, finally. I had no idea what Ben was doing for six hours but I wasn't going to question his choices. The door to his room opened and he walked inside, he quickly ripped the helmet off of his head and dropped it to the ground, the bang echoing on the floor, he had a depressive look on his face.

I glanced up at him and then back to the floor, whatever happens next is going to be terrifying. He took a shaky breath and looked over to me, he was sweating and his hands were shaking, I understood if he was scared but I didn't expect him to be this shaken.

"Rey...if this goes wrong-" he started to say but I wouldn't let him finish it. I had too much hope for us to let him say such words.

"Don't" I interrupted, I quickly walked up to him and just looked into his sad eyes, "whatever happens, happens" I said truthfully, our lives were in each other's. He nodded his head and put his forehead on mine, a sweet moment before we would escape together. I took a deep breath and backed up from him, "Are you ready?" I asked. He sadly nodded his head and wrapped his hand around my bicep, "pretend you're weak" he said quietly, I nodded my head and made my knees give out.

He immediately opened the door and dragged me out of there, troopers didn't dare to glance at what Ben was doing. I could sense how nervous he was, it seemed like it was eating him alive. As we walked down the hall, I spotted many different things about the ship. All of the tie fighter hangars were shut off or just not in operation, all of the internal plasma cannons were powered off too.

He pulled me in front of a large, metal door  which hissed open as we stood in front of it, revealing a hall with escape pods lined up against the wall. I sighed in relief at the sight of the prepped pods and waited until the door shut for me to run toward the pod. The door hissed shut and I walked toward the two pods at the very end, that's when my stomach sank.

"Ben...why is only one pod prepped?" I asked, I looked back at him and saw him glancing at the floor. I was so confused as I stared at him, what was he thinking? He suddenly ripped the gloves off of his hands, he walked over to me and interlocked both of his hands in mine. He raised them to his lips and kissed my hands, all I could do was stare at him in confusion.

"Ben...?" I said softly, he let go of my hands and moved them up to my face. His eyes flickered around my face for approval, I just gave him a small smile and let him pull my face toward his, for some reason this didn't feel happy or joyous...it felt like a goodbye. He broke the kiss and reached under his cape, pulling out a small pouch about the size of my forearm.

Suddenly the ship started to rumble, I became overcome with fear as I saw Ben's sad eyes. "Ben what are you doing?" I asked softly, "we have to get away now...why is only one pod ready?" I begged, I felt a ball form in my throat. I swallowed it down and felt tears well in my eyes. He looked to the ground in shame just look back at me and have tears falling down his face.

"Ben, we can get away together, you and I...just like what we both dreamed about" my words were failing, why wasn't he starting up another pod. He gave me a sad smile and planted another kiss on my lips, this time it truly felt like a goodbye.

"I love you" he said softly, I gasped at the words. Why was he doing this?

"Ben?" I asked one last time, "Ben, please, tell me-".

He waved his hand in front of my face and my body fell limp and my vision turned black. My mind and body screamed internally to wake up, get up! Wake up!
