Carpe Diem: The Souls Dark Night

Sometimes the night is long,

     The dark; pitch black

It feels as if it goes on and on,

Soul as empty as an old shack.

Anguish fights you from within,

     The pain you can't escape,

The remembrance of the darkest sins,

     Those with deep stains.

The dark night stays for a season,

     It never goes by quick,

Constantly warring evil demons,

That know no shame in their attacks.

The battle takes every bit of strength,

Mind and body drained of might,

It's worth it all to remain free,

And called champion of this night.

Alas! Dawn is breaking through,

     Morning brings forth new life,

Proud to be one of the very few,

Who took a stand for the fight.

No need to slumber in the shade,

Enjoy the sun while it's out,

Run merrily before the end of day,

Night will come without a doubt.
