Scorpius woke the next day at six thirty am, his alarm buzzing. He turned it off and saw the diary sitting just next to it. He picked it up, his hand grazed the cover. He traced the carving of Albus' name, done in Albus' familiar messy handwriting. He got up and went downstairs for breakfast. He was still wearing the clothes he was wearing the day prior, seeing as he was too tired and lazy to change.
"Morning Scorpius." Draco, who was sitting at the table reading the newspaper, greeted his son. "Feeling any better this morning?"
"A little." Scorpius replied, yawning.
He grabbed out some cereal and poured it into a bowl, pouring in milk as he sat down at the table. He ate as quick as he could seeing he had to leave in less than an hour and a half to walk to school. After finishing, he walked up to his room to get changed, he then packed his bag. He walked over to his bedside table and picked up Albus' diary. He stared at it for a while before shoving it into his bag, careful not to break or damage it. As he did so, a Polaroid picture slipped out and floated gently to the floor face down. Scorpius picked it up hesitantly.
'Scorpius'
The picture was of Scorpius and written at the bottom was his name with a heart next to it. Scorpius was grinning in the picture and holding a cat they had found on the street a few months ago. He remembered Albus taking the photo, saying it looked good since the cat was white like his hair. Scorpius laughed softly as memories of that day came flooding back. Albus had ended up keeping the cat, hiding it in his bedroom until his parents found out and, though angry, allowed him to keep it. 'Muffin' he had called it. He sighed and decided to keep the picture for now. He looked at the time, '7:56'. If he didn't hurry up, he would be late. He jogged downstairs to find that his father had already left for work, leaving Scorpius a note and a bag with a sandwich and a snack in.
'Sorry, left early.
Had some extra time so made you some lunch since it looked like you were running late.
See you tonight for dinner
-Draco'
Scorpius sighed shoving the lunch into his bag. He walked out the door, locking it, walking through the garden. He stopped to pick up a pen that was on the path. It was Albus' and had undoubtedly fallen out of his bag yesterday. The end of the pen was all chewed up and the ink looked as if it had spilt on the inside. He was nervous to see Albus but hoped he would be there. They needed to talk, he wanted to talk. Scorpius wanted to make sure he was alright.
Walking to school, Scorpius got even more nervous. He fidgeted with the old string bracelet around his wrist. The bracelet was made for him by Albus 6 years ago when they were 10. He has hardly ever taken it off since then. It was now slightly discoloured and fraying. He still loved it though and always fidgeted with it when he was nervous. Sometimes he would stare at the green and black colours that snaked into a braided design.
He arrived at school, nearly late since he had dropped past a corner store where he picked up a bottle of iced tea. He rushed to class and found his seat. He looked next to him where Albus should be, but he wasn't there. Yet. The bell rang and there was still no sign of Albus. Scorpius looked back at Albus' Cousin Rose, who was talking to her friends. The teacher began marking the roll and when Albus' name was called Rose was quick to tell the teacher that he was unwell. This made Scorpius extremely anxious. He felt his hand move back to the bracelet, tangling his fingers through the thread.
As soon as the bell for break rang, Scorpius was quick to take out his phone and text Albus.
Scorpius: Albus?
Albus are you ok?
Did I do something wrong?
Talk to me. Please

Scorpius then felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to come face to face with Polly Chapman. A girl in her year.
"Polly? What do you want?" Scorpius asked, a little agitated.
"Oh, um. I was wondering if you were free on Tonight." She replied awkwardly, her cheeks were a little pink.
"I might be." Scorpius said cautiously. "Why?"
"I, um, was just er wondering if I could um come over and study." She said before quickly adding. "I really need some help. I can't figure anything out. You're the smartest person I know of."
"What about Rose?"
"She doesn't like me very much anymore." Scorpius nearly laughed at that statement, No one likes you very much, he thought, making sure he didn't say it allowed.
"I will think about it."
Polly handed him a piece of paper with a phone number on it, just as the bell rang.
"Message me if you can help." She said before rushing off down the hall.
Scorpius stood there in the middle of the hallway. He felt his phone buzz and he quickly took it out of his pocket to find a notification for the news app on his phone. He sighed, opening his phone and then opening messages.
Seen
Albus had seen the messages but not replied. Scorpius grunted, he felt his heart break a little. He quickly rushed off to class before he was late.
