CHAPTER NINE-DID JAMES TELL YOU

Scorpius woke the next morning alone, Albus had got up earlier. He turned to check the alarm clock next to the bed and saw the time, '6:35'. Scorpius groaned, not wanting to get up. He hopped out of bed and walked downstairs. Albus was sitting at the table with James.

"Morning." Albus said, looking up from his plate of half eaten toast.

"Hey." Scorpius yawned; he could feel Albus staring at him.

Scorpius didn't get anything to eat, he just sat down next to Albus who looked up at him and smiled. Scorpius closed his eyes for a second as if it would help him wake up, he knew that James had also been staring at him.

"You know mum and dad could have walked right into your room, Albus. Your door was unlocked." James said casually with his mouth half full of food.

Albus went pale. "Wha-what are you talking about?" He said nervously, Scorpius felt Albus hand find his, holding it tightly.

"What? You think I'm dumb or something?" James said, raising an eyebrow.

Albus shook his head "I don't know what you mean."

"I'm pretty sure Scorpius knows what I mean." He said pointing at Scorpius whose head was down and he was staring at his plate. "Don't you, Scorpius?"

"I thought I heard the door open." Scorpius muttered.

"What the hell where you doing in my room James?" Albus said, his voice raising a little.

"Calm down, little brother! I couldn't sleep so I went to see if either of you were awake."

"You can't tell anyone about it. I swear to god if you do-"

"Don't worry Albus, I won't tell anyone." James said putting his hands up in defence. "So, am I the first to know?"

Scorpius shook his head. "No."

"Damn!" James laughed. "Who knows then?"

"Scorpius' dad and Polly Chapman." Albus said, hesitating on the last name.

"How the hell does she get to know before your own brother?" James huffed, sounding shocked.

Scorpius and Albus both looked at each other, both a little pink, before looking away again.

"Whoa. Whoa! What was that for, why did you look at each other like that?" James said.

"Well, um, she kinda-" Albus started.

"She saw us holding hands!" Scorpius quickly said, cutting Albus off.

"I know there's something you aren't telling me, but I won't pester you." James said.

The three sat in silence and waited for everyone else to get out of bed. They all sat and talked for a while before Albus and Scorpius went upstairs to get ready for school. It wasn't long till they found themselves walking to school together.

"James isn't good at keeping secrets." Albus said randomly on their walk.

"oh."

"I just hope he doesn't tell anyone. I think Polly knowing was a little nerve-racking but James knowing, that's sort of a tipping point." Albus sighed.

Scorpius shrugged "So? We will just be more careful. I'm not too fussed"

Albus nodded, watching the school building approach. He then saw his cousin Rose appear. She was rushing towards the two.

"Is something wrong, Rose?" Albus asked.

"When where you going to tell me you two were dating?" She said and Scorpius couldn't tell if she was joking or not.

Scorpius felt his stomach turn, his heart pounding and his face turn a little red. Albus on the other hand was standing there, his face looked frozen.

"Did James tell you?" Albus said coldly.

"Uh, no, one of my friends said she heard someone saw you 'holding hands' and going out on a 'date'" Rose said, a little confused. "I was gonna say that I was joking because I didn't actually believe her. But your answer makes me think otherwise."

"Crap, how many people know this?" Albus said, his voice sounding panicked.

"I don't know."

"come on Scorpius." Albus said. "Bye Rose."

Albus started charging off and Scorpius quickly followed. Scorpius could see that Albus' face was red, but he couldn't tell if it was from embarrassment or anger. They went straight to class and avoided people for the rest of the day. Ignoring the constant stares and whispers. Scorpius went to Albus' place after school to study since he left a couple books there from the previous night. They were sitting at the table reading a few books and chatting, James sitting across from them writing and Ginny in the kitchen. The front door opened, and Lilly burst in.

"ALBUS AND SCORPIUS ARE DATING!" She yelled running into the dinning room.

Ginny looked up, a little shocked and confused. "What are you talking about?"

Albus froze and Scorpius kept his head down.

"Lilly, do you always believe what I say?" James said.

"But you di-" Lilly started before James hissed at her and made a slitting motion on his neck with his hand, pointing to her. She groaned before running to her room.

Albus let out a sigh of relief and gave James and thankful look, James just gave him a nod and smiled in return. Scorpius started packing up his stuff.

"I should go, I need to be home by dinner." He said.

Albus stood up and walked with Scorpius out the door to say goodbye. Albus kissed Scorpius, Scorpius wrapping his arms around Albus' waist to pull him closer. Albus pulled his lips away and stared into Scorpius' eyes.

"What ever happens, we will be ok." Scorpius said softly to reassure Albus who looked worried.

Albus nodded and Scorpius let his arms fall to his side, freeing Albus from his hold.

"I love you." Scorpius said staring to walk down the front stairs. "See you tomorrow!"

"Yeah. See you tomorrow."

Fun fact- this is the longest thing I have ever written in my whole life. That's only because I never plan things properly and get bored of it.
