A/N: I haven't finished this but I feel really bad for not publishing anything in ages so here's part 1 of part 2 lol
"Maybe, Flash isn't up here. He could have gone exploring somewhere else." Ned looked at Peter hopefully, "There's a chance that he hasn't found out about you living here, being Spider-Man and Tony's adopted son and such."
"Yeah, maybe your right and this was just a close call. We can check the lower levels on our way down to the rest of the tour group." Peter was just about to turn and head back into the lift when he saw that the door into his bedroom was ajar. He signalled for his friends to be quiet and slowly crept closer. He could hear some-one inside. Without waiting any longer, he burst through the door to find a surprised Flash holding his spider-suit. "What are you doing up here?" he demanded.
"You- , you're Spider-Man, aren't you?"
Peter stared at him wide-eyed, "Hey man, you have to keep this a secret. You can't tell anyone. No-one can know. Okay?" Flash still looked shocked. "Do you understand?" He nodded quickly. Inside, Peter was relieved. If Flash told anyone...
"Come on, guys." MJ was looking at her watch, "The Q and A starts in 5 minutes and I want to ask Black Widow how many different ways she knows how to kill someone."
Peter, Ned and even Flash looked at her in a surprised and slightly concerned way, "...okay?"
"For, um ... research purposes of course..." Before they could reply she turned and walked to the lift and stepped inside, finger hovering over the button to close the doors, "What are you losers waiting for?"
*Time skip to this evening*
Peter lay in his bunk bed staring at the roof. He heard Ned snoring beneath him and the other noises of his classmates falling to sleep. MJ was lying on the next bunk over, reading - he had no clue how she could see anything in this light but oh well, she always had a way of doing the impossible.
He couldn't stop thinking about what Flash now knew, did he really trust the person that had bullied him for so long to keep his secrets? The truth was that he couldn't. But then again, there wasn't much else he could do about it. He lay there for a few more minutes wondering what was going to happen the next day, then suddenly his phone beeped loudly. He covered it quickly and sat up, looking around to see if anyone had heard it. Luckily, everyone seemed to be asleep. He checked his phone, there was a message from KAREN who always notified him of crime in the area during his patrol hours. If it wasn't for the field trip, he would be patrolling at this very minute and he had forgotten to turn off his notifications. He opened the message.
KAREN:
<Hello Peter the Spider King, there is a crime being committed on the corner of Columbus Avenue and 74th street requiring immediate attention.
Peter silently laughed at what Karen called him and glanced around again. All the Avengers were probably already asleep or busy and he could handle this by himself. It wasn't as if any of his sleeping classmates were going to notice that he was gone. Carefully, he slid out from underneath the covers and jumped down onto the floor, making only a slight thump. He stepped lightly over the floor and after what seemed like and eternity, reached the door on the other side of the room. Opening the door painstakingly slowly and wincing when it made a creaking noise, he crept outside and shut it again behind him.
After taking the lift upstairs and scurrying to his bedroom, Peter pulled his spider-suit out of the cupboard. He stripped off his pyjamas, and pulled his suit on, pressing the spider symbol in the middle to tighten it to the right size. He walked over to the window and opened it fully. Cold night air swept in, ruffling the corners of the various posters on the wall. He stepped onto the windowsill and crouched there for a second. He glanced down and let out a quick breath that the breeze whisked away. He had to calm himself every time he did this, after all, any sane person was scared to jump out of the 34th level window. Pulling his mask on, he closed his eyes and jumped.
The wind whistled past his falling body and he watched as the road beneath him came closer. From this far up, the cars looked like multi-coloured beetles and he was level with some of the surrounding office buildings. He came closer, passing lit windows where people still worked at their desks. Closer, now he could see streetlights and the sidewalk below. Closer, he was barely ten metres from the ground when he let out a web and was swinging down the street. He smiled as he saw people on the ground stop and point, like this no-one knew who he really was and he loved it. There was no Flash to bully him. No adults saying he was young and irresponsible. No ropes tying him down. The exhilaration of swinging through the air. Doing what no-one else could. He could be free. This was were he felt alive.
He swung further down the street into a darker part of town, away from people's eyes. He slowed down and sat for a moment on the top of a lamp post. Closing his eyes, he let his Peter Tingle guide him. He felt something in the corner of his mind, his senses pulled him towards an alley a few blocks down. Gotcha, he thought and went quietly into the shadows.
*Meanwhile*
Flash lay silently in his bunk. He watched out of the corner of his eye as Peter snuck out of the room. How could he think that no-one would see him? If he really was Spider-Man, shouldn't he be better at sneaking around? Curious at what Peter must be doing, Flash slipped out of bed, still in his pyjamas and went out through the door a couple of seconds after Peter. Flash could see him up ahead, walking down the corridor. He crept after him, pressing up against the wall and praying that the shadows would hide him when the other boy spun round to check that no-one was following. Flash held in his sigh of relief, there was no way that he was going to let Peter hear him.
After the lift had gone upstairs with Peter in it, Flash allowed himself to think. Peter must've gone up to the Avenger's level, but why? Maybe he had to go on a super-secret mission as Spider-Man! Flash would have to investigate further. He wasn't given any time to think about his decision because just then the lift doors opened. He took a quick breath, he had to figure out what was going on. Without another thought, he stepped inside and the doors slid shut behind him.
