Chapter 20

Alex's POV.

I nervously waited as the pack doctor examined Michelle. The silence was killing me. Doc clears his throat.

"Well umm the baby is perfectly fine. It seems like the pregnancy is going well... I have bad news though..." doc waited for a response from me. After not replying he continued.

"There's a chance that the baby may be a 'Super Alpha' too...."

"Hows that bad news?" Me and Michelle ask at the same time. He takes a deep breath before answering.

"This could potentially kill Michelle."

"What?!?!?!" I yell. She can't die.... If she dies then I do too....

"The baby makes its first shift when its ready to be born.... if its the super alpha... any other shifter pup would shift at the age sixteen. If the baby is a super alpha it will rip michelle apart. She wont be able to heal. Its too early to be able to tell if its a super alpha though." Michelle didn't seem worried.

'Course not she's a future mom she just wants her pup to live.' Kaleb says. I took a deep breath before saying.

"Can't we just......-"

"No!! I'm having this baby even if it kills me!" Michelle growled covering her stomach protectively. A growl escaped my lips. Tears formed at the corners of her eyes. I wanted to reach over and wipe them away but I knew that wouldn't go to well at the moment.

"He's kicking..... its okay I wont let them hurt you." She cooed to the baby.

"He?"

"Guessing." She whispered.

"Fine. Have the baby. Your not only killing yourself but you will be killing me in the process." I said storming out. I didn't know what to do. There's no way of telling if its going to be a super alpha... I can only pray to the moon goddess at this point.

'She may change her mind....' kaleb suggested.

'She's stubborn as hell.... you and I both know she wont change her mind....' kaleb stayed silent.

Michelles POV.

I wont give up this baby. I'll fight for him.... even if it means dying. Doc left an hour ago.... fifteen minutes after alex left... I didn't know when alex would be back.... it worried me a little yet a part of me was at ease.

'How do you know if its a boy or girl?' Jenelle asked curiously.

'I don't.... guessing remember?' Just then I felt the baby kick. I gently rubbed my stomach in a circular motion.

'It feels so weird feeling him kick.' I murmured to jenelle. She snorted.

'When I had my own body I had six pups.... 'babys' its not that weird of a feeling.'

'Damn six??'

'Yep they're all grown up now.'

'Where are they now?'

'Dunno. They moved away after I passed.' I sat alone in the kitchen sipping tea while reading a magazine. Bored. As. Fuck.

After three hours of being alone I started to get really worried.... where is alex?!? I'm not using the mate link to let him know I'm worried about him... what if he's reallt just fine and he's actually waiting for me to use the pack link first? I'm not going to sit here all day to find out. After changing clothes I now wore skinny jeans, boots, and a hoodie. I headed outside and began to walk to the park. Many people were there. Playing with kids, reading, walking, or just passing through.

"Michelle?" A voice called from behind me. Jenelle got excited.

'Its not Alex.' I told her wearily. She stayed silent.

"Erm hey." I said turning around. Dustin. From the library the other day.

"What brings you here?" He asks.

"Oh nothing... got bored sitting at home."

"Where's your boyfriend?"

"Oh he's........ I dunno actually. We sorta had a fight." I said.

"I'm sure he will be back soon. How longs he been gone? Nevermind I'm being nosy sorry." He said turning. A light shade of pink. I smiled.

"S'okay. He's been gone for atleast three or four hours.... Not too long I suppose."

"Damn. Well do you want me to keep you company while you wait?"

"Sure."

'What are you doing?? You saw how alex reacted before when he saw him with you...'

'Why the not? He's just a friend...'

"Hey wanna grab some coffee first? I'm buying."

"Sounds good. Com'n." I said walking towards the closest Starbucks. I wondered if Alex was already home. What would happen if me and Dustin walking in only to find an angry Alex. Dustin walkef extremely close to me. I could smell his Cologne.

'Shit. He smells firmilar...' jenelle murmured.

'He's wearing cologne there's probably a thousand other guys with the same cologne... scratch that, a million other guys.'

'No not his cologne! He also looks firmilar.' She hissed.

'Maybe he's one of your many sons.' I joked.

'Shit....'

'Wait what?!?!?!'

'Before I met my mate.... I sorta mated with a human. Well long story short nine months later he's born and I find my mate. If dustin really is my son then he's half shifter.'

'How old are you....?"

'If I was alive id be in my fourties...' I was speechless. Dustin..... is her son. A faint image of jenelle poped into my head.

'That's me.' She murmured. She had wavy, dark, brown hair, brown eyes. She was skinny too. Too skinny...

'I can definitely see were dustin gets his looks from... 'cept for his grey eyes.' Jenelle stayed silent.

"Why so quiet?" Dustin asks me after five minutes.

"Oh erm.... dunno spaced out I guess."

"Damn its cold. Arnt you cold too?"

"I'm fine..."

"Here take my jacket... your skin is freezing." He said as his hand brushed past mine. His skin was burning. It was so warm.

"You sure?" He nodded and slipped the over sized jacket over me. His sent was intoxicating. It was all over the jacket. We soon arrived at Starbucks. I ordered a hot chocolate and Dustin ordered the same. The walk home was quicker than the walk to Starbucks.

"Well there's mine and Alex's place." I said pointing to the large two story house."

"Damn. I wish my apartment was as nice as this."

"Do you live 'round here?"

"Sorta. I'm four blocks down that direction."

"I think I've seen those apartments before... they're real nice." I handed Dustin his jacket as we walked to the front door. Alex's sent was fresh. I took a deep breath as I pushed the door open.
