Chapter 25

Johns POV.

I was shaking with excitement. I cant believe the plan is working... my son really is cluless.... even his little mate didn't suspect a thing. Soon the thing growing inside of her would be gone along with my son.... unfortunately.

None of this had to happen, but it did.

'what would your mate say if she was alive today?' The same voice that's Been haunting me hissed.

"If she was here none of this would be happening." I said out loud.

'would it john? Would it really...?' It hissed again. I ignored it. I'm just going crazy.... so nothing out of the ordinary that I should worry about..

Alex's POV.

My father was silent as we drove along the icy river in my jeep. In my head it was loud with my thoughts. Most of them were about Michelle and the baby. I didn't care about Justin.... I'm sorry I mean Dustin. I still don't like the guy... but I guess I'll tolerate him.

"Just turn on this bend up ahead." My father grumbles, half asleep.

"Wake up oldman. I need you to tell me how to get to the council HQ."

"Just keep going straight." He mumbled.

"Dad!"

"What the fuck do you want??!" I Stayed silent. The cool breeze blew in my face causing,even my shifters warm skin, to go numb with cold. The out of no where a lovely sent hits my nose.

Michelles POV.

As soon as Alex's jeep had disappeared down the street, Dustin and I shifted and chased after the Jeep. Alex's dad didn't look or even act strange when he came to pick Alex up. Nothing out of the ordinary with John. But that made Dustin even more suspicious when I told him that. We ran on the sidewalks,faster than any human eyes could see. Jeez they give the vampires all the credit with these super senses stuff, but Shifters are just as good. Well....if vampires existed.

'Michelle I don't know if this is a good idea...' Jenelle murmurs.

hits fine I won't hurt myself or the pup/baby.' Janelle sighs.

something bad is going to happen... I just feel it.'

The jeep comes into view. I see Alex and his fathers heads through the window. I wonder if we should slow down.

'Theyre gonna see us!' Dustin hisses, sharing my worried thoughts. A horrible contraction hits nearly sending me to the ground. I quickly recover and act as if nothing happend.

'I know, I know. Let's slow down a bit and run along the trees over there.' I nod my head in the direction of the trees. They're a good couple of yards away.

"Alex is or probably already has sensed you.... i know he wont tell his father if he has sensed you but hes not going to be happy about this..."

"dont you think i know this?" I start trotting towards the edge of the trees while keeping a close eye on the jeep. My heart pounded in my chest. What is John up too? A terrifying thought came to mind, making my blood run cold.What if John was planning on executing his son?? But for what reason...?

Johns POV.

"Right up here. Stop at this cave were the trees fallen infront of the entrance." I said to Alex pointing at the eerie cave. The excitment bubbling within me blocked all worries. Soon Michelle would be taken care of by my hidden assasians at their house...then i'd kill my son. After tonight i'd get full reins of the so called "super Alpha". Shes not what she seems.

"Park here?"Alex asks snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Erm Yeah. Next to that pile of twigs"

"Dad?......" He paused. "Thanks for raising me when mom died... I wouldve never been where i am today."

You have no idea.....

"Thanks son. Everything that has ever or will ever happen to you is for a reason..." He gave me a funny look then shrugged it off. I sat on one of the tree logs and gestered for Alex to come sit next to me. The full moon was hidden by the smokey clouds. The moon was the only source of light. It made everything look spooky. The trees looked as if they might get up and walk away at any moment. Shadows played fearfull tricks on my eyes.

"Wait here. Im going to go see if the councils ready for the ceramony." I left alex before he could say another word. I stepped over the trees blocking the caves entrance. There leaning against the smooth cave wall was my special blade and some poison (the poison would stun him rather than killing him... that was my job.) Since all the council wolf shifters have been murdered about a year ago (all my doings) i had ordered my workers to dress up in dark cloaks.

"Alex... Theyre here." I said as all ten of them stepped out of the cave behind me.

"Nice to meet you all." He said bowing his head. The poison was in one of my workers hands. He stepped forwards and handed the poison to Alex in a small bowl.

"Drink this. Its a part of the ritual for Alphas." My worker said in a gravely voice. Alex bowed his head once more and gently took the bowl, trying to be carefull not to spill any of the secret liquid. I heard a low growl coming from the bushes behind alex. Probably just a mountain lion smelling the wolf sent we all carried.

All of a sudden before alex brought the bowl to his lips more growls sounded from all around us. Fear sparked in the air, making me wrinkle my nose in disgust. What the hell is going on? We all freeze up and listen. The growls get louder and soon somthing lunges at my neck from behind. My workers are on it in an instant. It smacks them away, flinging them off of it one by one.

"Alex stop! Hes trying to kill you!" The very familiar feminine voice says gripping my neck.

..... And then i remember.... I have my blade. I lash out and slice something solid and hard. The fresh metalic sent of blood hits my nostrils.
