A Tragic Catastrophe

Long ago, the whole continent was divided into two empires;
Wang Empire and Tang Empire.

The Tang empire ruled the west, where they grew and flourished at a more faster pace.

This empire is very feared and in the recent years, they have shown less interest in remaining peaceful.

Years before the current Emperor took the throne, the Tang Emperor, whose fame was spread far and wide visited the East.

Taken by the beauty and wonders of the eastern empire, The wang empire, they forged an alliance together.

However, this alliance seemed to be breaking apart as a new emperor ascended the throne the past year.

The new Emperor of the Tang empire was set on capturing places and conquering lands.

His military power significantly increased and frequent battles began taking place near the borders.

This had posed an alarming threat to the Wang empire, and the Emperor, doesn't seemed to take any action to strengthen the army.

The happy-go-lucky attitude of the Emperor, actually garnered hate and dissatisfaction among the generals and the ministers.

It especially infuriated our third prince, Shen, though he knows that it is his own father.

He couldn't tolerate it anymore and infact, wanted to overthrow his father from the throne and appoint someone who is worthy of it.

Working in the borders at the North, fighting off the cold and starvation, going through bloody battles had long since steeled up his mind and heart.

Only melody could comfort and console him when he was about to go insane.

Shen, had returned back home not to have a reunion but, to make his imperial father get to know the exact scale of this issue.

If it still doesn't work, he wouldn't hesitate to take matters in his hands personally.

He found it high time that they must put of the western domination and to do so, he would undoubtedly need his brothers help.

What made him disheartened was the fact, that his big brother had actually married.

He never in his life, ever wanted to break apart a sweet family. He felt bad thinking of that wife of his brother.

In the battlefield, we may win or lose. We may live or die.

We must be prepared to give up on life at any moment, for danger lurks everywhere.

Putting his brother's life at stake meant, anxiety and fear among the royal family.

His first brother, would be the most likely to ascend the throne, and he wanted to talk with his brothers, hear out their opinion and prepare a good strategy.

Shen, had always considered being the Emperor to be an headache. It's highly difficult to maintain peace over such a huge land.

Deep in his heart, he had always found his uncle, Chen Le to have been the most suitable candidate to have took up the throne.

He may never voice it out, for it could land him on a capital punishment that he didn't want.

So, that night, after the whole palace was silent, he and his brothers gathered in a study room.

It was guarded by Qin Yu and Qin mo and other two trusted members of the second prince.

They whispered and not a word was allowed to pass out of the four walls. Everyone was made sure of it.

A warm cup of tea was served on the table and the three began to formulate a plan.

"Brothers, are you aware of all the noise in the border?" Shen, asked gravely.

"Yes." Replied the second prince as the crown prince nodded.

"The Emperor is doing nothing. If this goes on, it won't be long before our empire disappears. " Shen continued.

"Hah. He doesn't do anything these days. What do you expect from him?" the crown prince laughed with mockery.

"Yes. Brother, we're going to need strong enforcements to back up our nation. I sincerely request both of your help!" The third prince said.

"But, what shall we do with our Imperial father? He won't allow us to make use of the imperial army." The second prince said worriedly.

"We must make him accept.." The third Prince's voice became low and feeble.

The crown prince thought for awhile and dipped his finger tip into the tea. He swiftly began writting some words on the table.

The second and third prince looked at him with astonishment.

Then, it was quickly wiped away with the flick of the sleeve and they began to strategize.

"I have a plan." Shen said.

The Tang empire occupied a portion of the North, north west, west and parts of South west borders.

They must assure that not a single gap is left to let an enemy infiltrate into their empire.

"I'm quite familiar with the North. I'm pretty sure I can handle the North as well the north west parts." Spoke the third prince.

"As it's cold in the north, only some strong warriors can fight there. I think the majority of the soilders would be stationed at the west and south west compared to the north." Concluded the second prince.

"You are right. Then, if that's the case, we'll have a big chance of loosing at the west border." Spoke the crown prince.

"The south-west shouldn't be underestimated. I heard a great general leads the army there." Shen said.

"According to my calculations, Lee, head over to the south-west. Hire skillful warriors from that scarlet organization. You'll have a good chance of winning." The crown prince said.

"Mmm.. and, you have to guard the west. I heard you were given the royal tiger tally, capable of summoning the warriors from the shi mountain, on your crowning ceremony." Said the second prince.

"Oh, Right. I almost forgot about that. It was our mother's gift. She said, when things arise, it may come handy." The crown prince said as he thought.

"There are two parts, aren't they..?" Shen questioned.

"Yes. Both pieces have to be joined together in order to call out the warriors. I don't know where the other part is." The second prince told.

"I have to search and have a look for it.  I must bring an army and rise our Empire. I'll do whatever I can in my power." Vowed the crown prince.

"But.. brother. Now that you're married.." Shen's voice derailed.

'Yes! How did I not think of her?!' Chen Shang suddenly became stressed, but he replied calmly.

"She's a strong woman. She'll definitely make a wise decision. But, I would like to talk with her about this, before making any further plans." The crown prince spoke.

"That would be for the best." The second prince said and the third prince nodded his head.

The crown prince ordered Qin Mo to infiltrate into the neighboring kingdom and collect information.

Then, they bid goodbye to each other and went to their respective courtyards.

However, the three of them had sleepless night and the Empress had a bad premonition, thinking of the sudden visit of her son.
