"What did he look like?" The agent asked, following Alexis down the hall.
"I don't know, I don't know if I was seeing correctly," she said annoyedly.
"Why?" The nerdy looking agent asked, a pad of paper and a pen in his hands.
"Because he looked like someone I knew in the 40's," Alexis said.
"Oh ma'am, that is impossible," the agent said with a laugh and shake of his head. Alexis rolled her eyes and let out a gruff sound of annoyance.
"I know, that's why I don't know if I was seeing correctly," she said. "Now, let me get my stuff done." Alexis walked off quickly, heading outside the base. She left to a nearby barber shop, ready to have herself back.
--
"I have brought in reinforcements," Fury said, looking at the so called leaders of the Avengers team. Tony let out an annoyed laugh.
"Like you can find reinforcements for the team of people who were supposed to save everyone," he said. Him and Steve were facing away from the elevator, not hearing it open as Fury spoke.
"You ain't at the top Buddy. He did find reinforcements," they heard. Fury looked up as Steve and Tony spun around quickly. Alexis walked in, her hair back to its light blonde color and her eyes the magnificent blue that they are. She was in her uniform, same as Steve, hers a bit more intense. His was bright and lively, Alexis not caring for the look entirely. Steve smiled.
"Lex," he said. Alexis nodded once with a small smile.
"Alexis Rogers," Tony said. She walked forwards.
"Tony Stark," she said. "You're supposed to be a genius. Why'd the bad guy get away?" Tony frowned.
"No, not just you, both of you. You were brought in to fight the battles SHIELD or the government never could and I had to be brought in from my previous mission to pick up your slack. I was supposed to be in this team, to lead it, but our schedules didn't cooperate," she said, her years of experience proving her frustration with the two heroes.
"But, I'm sure you already heard the whole thing from Fury," she finished. Tony grunted.
"What're we supposed to do?" He asked. Alexis walked up to him and slammed her hand on the table, getting close to his face as she bent down.
"Fight," she said simply yet aggressively. She stared the billionaire down, Tony getting up and leaving.
"Well, it's an old-fashioned notion," Fury said, watching the man leave. Alexis sighed.
"Was I too hard?" She asked. Fury shook his head.
"No, it was what they needed to hear," he said.
"I'll go talk to him," Steve offered, leaving the room. Alexis took a seat.
"Do you have any leads on what Loki is planning?" She asked. Fury shook his head.
"No idea."
—
"We're going back in," Steve said. Alexis smiled.
"Great, let's," she said. Steve nodded and the two walked side by side to the room Natasha said her and Clint would be in.
"I know Clint, he's quick to bounce back. He'd be good to help and he's on the list," Alexis said, referring to the list of potential Avengers. Steve sighed, nodding.
"Yeah, okay," he said. He opened the door, knocking slightly before peeking his head in.
"You know how to fly one of those jets?" He asked. Clint walked through from what seemed to be a bathroom.
