Things were finally good, finally peaceful for Bucky. He was not known around town as the Winter Soldier, he was not even known around town. He had gotten things to not be weird around Alexis, it becoming natural to just say hello or show up on her doorstep whenever he felt like it. Life was simple, sometimes awkward with Alexis, but still good, and he liked it that way. And then, it wasn't.

"Alexis?" Bucky called through the door. He knocked again, hearing no response once more. He sighed, assuming that she was just out and about. Then, he spotted a letter underneath the doormat that was addressed to him. He scooped it up and tore it open, revealing the letter.

Bucky,

There are things going down involving the Avengers and they need my help. Apparently, one of Tony's inventions went rogue or something, but now it's trying to take over the world; yeah, it's not great. I got word last night, I don't even know how they found me. They don't know that you're here. I'm sure they could figure it out, but what good would that do? Anyways, I'll be back within the month, hopefully. I promise not to die. I'm sorry I didn't say goodbye, they needed me ASAP .

Your kinda girl,

Alexis

Bucky groaned, his hand flying to his forehead

Bucky groaned, his hand flying to his forehead. She left. She just... left, without even saying goodbye. While it was a good reason to leave, it still did not sit well with the man.

"Alexis," Steve breathed out, catching sight of his sister. A few beeps in the coms were heard and Alexis' voice was heard, the rest of the team now aware that she was there to help.

"What? The one time I want some peace to myself all crap breaks loose?" They all heard, everyone snickering to themselves as they continued to fight the deranged robots.

"Want a breif?" Tony asked. Alexis shook her head despite no one being able to see it. She brought one of the metal men's head to her knee, shutting it down.

"Nah, you got time?"

"Nope, you?"

"A bit short of it at the moment."

"I've got some to spare," Natasha added, Alexis picturing the silly smile on her friend's face.

"Really?" The Rogers girl asked in response.

"No." Alexis laughed, shooting a couple 'bots. One came flying at her, but she skillfully avoided it and shot it in the chest. Suddenly, what felt like an earthquake shook her, causing her to fall to the ground. She looked to her side, seeing the ground break, the section she was on staying still as the side opposite began to rise.

"We flyin' or we stayin'?" She asked quickly, not knowing what to do.

"Flying," Clint replied, luckily also being quick. Alexis stood up, making her way quickly to the part that was currently being lifted into the air by some machinery that Alexis did not know what it was about. She jumped, grabbing onto the side of hanging pipes from the roads and pulling herself to the top, her foot eventually coming to push off of the same pipe. Her arms found the asfault, clawing at anything she could to get grip. Suddenly, her hand was met by a firm palm, Alexis being pulled up as the piece of land continued to be lifted. Alexis collapsed next to Clint, both of their breath's spiratic as they looked around, confused as to what was going on.
