Varian trudged up to the gates of Corona, exhausted from the lengthy and difficult journey he just took. His backpack made him feel like gravity was doubling its force, and his shoulders felt almost deformed. But none of that mattered, he'd made it, no casualties or issues at all, and without any help from anyone else.
"This place is almost the most beautiful thing I've ever seen", he exclaimed, taking in the incredible view of the whole Kingdom. It truly was breathtaking. If only Y/N had been here to appreciate it with him, though her beauty could outshine any kingdom. He smiled, in a sort of trance from thinking about her, as he walked to the inn his father had booked for him. Once he'd reached his room, he threw off his enormous backpack, dropped his other even heavier bag, and flopped onto the bed, feeling as though he could sink right through it.
"I'll never walk again", he murmured, just lying on the bed. He was there for a solid two minutes before someone knocked on the door.
"Who on earth could that be?" He wondered, heading up towards the door. A messenger had arrived with a letter from his father, apparently something quite urgent since he hadn't left too long ago. He waved the postman goodbye, shut the door and went back to lying on his bed. Once he felt that he had done nothing for long enough, he opened the letter. Inside it read:
'Son,
Y/N isn't in the house anywhere, I've looked everywhere, asked the villagers, even gone beyond the Old Corona borders, but there's no sign of her, I need to make sure she's safe. Make sure she's not followed you to Corona, as it's not safe for her there under any circumstances.Sincerely,
Dad.'
Varian sat there, processing what he'd just read. He picked up the nearest pillow and screamed into it as loudly as he could, thrashing his arms and legs around while doing so, wanting to just smash the whole place to smithereens from just how angry he was. Trust Y/N to get lost! He'd only just arrived and he'd have to go on another wild goose chase!
"I'm gonna kill her when I find her!!!!!!!!" He yelled louder than he should have. "Or, maybe just yell at her a bunch, I don't really wanna kill her... what am I saying, I should just go." He grabbed his coat, hat and gloves, brought some spare potions (just in case) and headed out to look for his best friend.
