"I understand that you have adopted Deceit here?"

"Yes sir. I'm sorry if he's caused any problems. He will be punished accordingly." Remy gained his fancy manner of speaking. He bowed his head slightly in apology.

Deceit began to panic. Whenever his mother had said that he would be hit.

He began to shake with fear for what was going to happen.

Had he gone too far? Had he finally messed up?

Was he wrong about this family?

".....your son has a two week suspension." the principal finished.

Deceit had tuned out most of the conversation as he thought of everything that could happen.

Remy nodded and stood. "Let's go Dee."

He guided Deceit out of the office and school. Once they entered Remy's van he spoke. Deceit whimpered.

Please don't hit me.

Remy was silent for a few moments. "Did you think I was going to hurt you?"

Deceit shrunk away from him.

You aren't?

Remy shook his head, turning to Deceit. He began to realized how the way he had phrased it had sounded like he was going to hit him. "Dee, I wasn't going to hit you kiddo. I was just going to ground you from your phone."

Deceit paused.

That's.. That's it?

Remy nodded "you'll get it back when your suspension is over. I'll also be asking your teachers for your work so you can do that during your suspension." Remy expected Deceit to complain.

Deceit didn't argue. That didn't seem bad at all. He nodded.

If I need help would you or Smiley help me?

"Of course kiddo." Remy ruffled Deceit's hair and began to drive home.
