Virgil got up.

It was his only friend.

It would help.

No!

He heard Grandma's voice and paused. "Grandma?"

Silence ensued. He sighed and finished his walk to the bathroom.

He pulled the small box out of the cupboard under the sink.

Stop! Please stop sweetheart!

Virgil slammed his fist down on the counter. "Get the fuck out of my head! I don't wanna be crazy! I don't wanna hear voices!" He opened the box and pulled out what he was looking for.

A shiny, sharp, razor.

He twirled it between his fingers, wondering if this was really worth it.

It was

Virgil took a breath and rolled his sleeve up. He pressed the blade to his skin.

He slowly dragged the blade down his arm. Blood began to drip from the deep wound into the sink.

Virgil cried silently. He made another cut.

Then another.

Then-

"Virrrrrrgiiiiilllll where are you little Spideyyyy~"

Virgil froze and quickly shut the door to the bathroom, locking it.

Remus stopped moving outside. Images of Virgil with a razor in hand flashed in front of his eyes. Remus helped him stop years ago with Deceit.

He ran to the bathroom and pounded on the door. "V-virgil open the door!" Remus's voice shook.

Virgil called out while he made another cut. "I'll be out in a minute Love."

Remus frowned deeper. "Now I know something is wrong. You never call me that unless you are upset or something. Please Virgil. Please tell me you aren't doing what I think you're doing?"

No response.

Remus panicked more and ran to get his lock pick. He came back and began to work on picking the lock.

Virgil began to panic and he accidentally dropped the blade.

Remus heard the metal and finally got the door open. He had begun to cry.

Virgil was sobbing, his arms were bleeding heavily and it had stained his hoodie.

Remus ran forward and hugged Virgil quickly. "Please. Please don't do that."

Virgil sobbed, hiding his face in Remus's chest.

"Let's get you patched up okay? Then we can cuddle and watch a movie okay kitten?" Remus may be a bit impulsive at times but he knew when he needed to stay calm.

He carefully pulled Virgil's arms out in front and Virgil looked away in shame.

"Hey, it's okay baby."

Remus carefully cleaned the cuts. He talked to him the whole time to distract him from the sting of the disinfectant.

He bandaged Virgil's arms and peppered the boy's face with kisses. Virgil slowly began to smile and soon was laughing a little. Not much, but just enough to satisfy Remus.

He picked Virgil up bridal style. "Let us travel to the couch! Fair maiden!"

Virgil giggled "You're acting like some knight, or prince now. You're acting different and it's freaking me out."

Remus pouted. "Fine. If I can't be nice to my boyfriend then I'll simply annoy the hell out of you."

He began to annoy Virgil "Or we could do something elsee~" he purred, kissing Virgil's neck.

"Okay okay! Movie it is god dammit Remus."

"YAY!"

He was broken. But he couldn't show. He was the rock wasn't he? The one they needed. At least, he hoped they needed him. He felt invisible sometimes. No one listened no one needed no one wanted him. Cracked.
